The best cruise ever! by BryanE

Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I thought the ship was very clean and the people working the ship were very friendly. However, some of the guests on the ship were quite rude. I loved the food and nightly entertainment, especially the ice skating show.

What a fantastic cruise by LisaA21

Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My family and I cruised on Royal Caribbean's Adventure of the Seas this past August. We boarded the ship in San Juan on Sunday without any luggage due to a problem with the airlines. The Royal Caribbean staff worked diligently with the airlines to find our luggage and get it to us. We were not reunited with our luggage until Thursday in St. Lucia. Service is number one with this organization, I can tell you that! Royal Caribbean gave my family and myself formal wear to use for formal night, complimentary laundry services as well as shipboard credit for personal items. I can't say enough wonderful things about this cruise line and it's staff. What could have been a disasterous trip turned out to be a truly wonderful and memorable experience thanks to Royal Caribbean.

A Great Family Adventure! by GwennP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our second cruise on RCL so we were familiar with the ship and it's layout. What an amazing vessel! From the Promenade to the pools to the climbing wall, it was all just as wonderful as the first time. You don't really appreciate the grandeur of the Adventure of the Seas until you get off the ship and see it sitting at the dock. It's a wonder it can even float! The Cruise Director and his staff, the dining room staff and the stateroom attendants were always pleasant and helpful and promptly took care of the passengers in a timely manner. As before, the food was excellent with the addition of more vegetarian and healthful choices. As for the entertainment, there was something for everyone, young and old. Embarkation and disembarkation have been streamlined so things were smoothe from beginning to end. We look forward to our next RCL cruise!

The attention to detail on the ship was wonderful. The shows, the staff, the care & service and the programs were all wonderful! We were amazing at the high quality of entertainment and we fell in love with each and every person that cared for us - Our stateroom service, the dining room waiters and the Cruise Director were all TOPS! The food was delicious, the ambience throughout the ship was incredible and - oh yeah, the islands weren't bad either! I HIGHLY reccomend this ship and Royal Caribbean!

A truly excellent "Adventure" by DonnaF7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We've just returned from a cruise on the Adventure of the Seas and it was truly an ADVENTURE! The 24-hour pool and hot tub areas were the absolute best. We enjoyed a night time "tub" while we sailed along to our next port of call. In addition to "tubbing" in the evenings, we enjoyed the variety of clubs and entertainment on board. We spent a lot of time in the latin and jazz clubs - the music was great! The activities on board were exciting and plentiful - from the rock climbing wall (which I had never done) to the golf course, to the ice rink. It would have been helpful to know in advance that long pants and socks were required in order to skate (after all, we were in the caribbean and we packed lite. :-) ), but we made do. On the "Adventure", we had the opportunity to participate in everything or nothing. We chose to participate in as much as we could pack into a single day. The statetrooms on board were very comfortable and our balcony was divine. We particularly like the shower doors as they contained both water spray from showering and the beach sand that was captured in our swim suits. The dining rooms were very tastefully decorated and there was a variety of food. We enjoyed the casual dining for lunch, especially when we were at sea. RCCL has the the best staff in all of cruising. They could not do enough for us and their sincerety and profesionalism shined. In closing, the Adventure of the Seas lived up to its name. While our week flew by, we have great memories forever. Can't wait to go again. It was truly an Adventure!!

A Honeymooners Dream by RoyK1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The adventure of the seas was definately an adventure and a vacation/honeymoon packed into one. Over all the ship itself really has alot to do which keeps u pretty busy(if busy is your thing), otherwise lounge in the 24hr jacuzzi or internet cafe or pig out with definatly gourmet style food which is strictly scheduled. The ship left form San Juan Puerto Rico and there was a excellent live salsa band which i regret not getting their info the singer was no wedding singer...lol he was excellent. I really wish they accomidated the band with a large enough forum to show case their abilities. There was alot of people who wanted to dance salsa but they put the band in a small lounge next to a stairway which congested the area and really turned myself and many passengers from staying in the lounge. I really think next time i will bring our son there was plenty of activities for him to participate in and staf to supervise them. But cruisers beware you really have to pay attention to your charging to your room reciepts i found two over charges and they were both found by mistake. But I cannot complain both problems were reversed and fixed by the customer service staff. But in the future i will pay closer attention to my charges daily.

Adventure on the High Seas by LouiseK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We had a fabulous trip thanks to the wonderful and interesting crew in the Adventure of the Seas! We even had the oppportunity to speak to the ship's captain almost everyday going ashore, What at friendly guy! There is so much to do aboard that you might even come home tired!! The ports of call were diverse and interesting even though it rained our day in Antigua. For our first cruise this was a great time. Royal Carribean is a professional organization that was well organized throughout the trip.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We have sailed on Royal Caribbean before ,but this surpassed all our expectations. The ship is beautiful, staff terrific, food wonderful!!! You never run out of things to do. I spent lots of time(and money) at the wonderful art auctions. The entertainment was some of the best ,we saw the Drifters and they had everybody dancing. The comics were great as well. There was a terrific latin group that played in the Lobby Bar.This cruise had a great late departure from Aruba so we we able to dine in our favorite restaurant there. We enjoyed a quiet evening in the ships speciality restaurant and the food and atmosphere was wonderful.

Well worth the wait!!! by DebbieG4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I started counting the days the day we booked our cruise in September. We just returned from the Adventure of the Seas on our second cruise that sailed July 2. The ship was so vast and impressive with so much to do. We booked our excursions prior to leaving on line. What a time saver. I just wish we could have stayed on for a few more days. We met some wonderful people that shared our dinner table and made new friends. The excusions were wonderful--despite one being cancelled because of rough water. Saint Martin was a dream--brought tears to my eyes with its beauty. We brought our adult children with us and it couldn't have been more wonderful. I can't wait to book my next cruise.

Great Cruise by RussellE

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our first cruise so we were uncertain what to expect. Very friendly staff and they bent over backwards to help you out. The check in process was very smooth. The food in the dining room was excellent but the buffet could use some improvement. We had a great itinerary. The only negative was the departure time. The ship left at 5PM everyday even if the distance to the next port was short.

It was fabulous by PatG7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I'm a lover of cruises and this experience just re-emphasis it is the only way to go. The Adventurer of the Seas is a very nice ship. The food was great. We had an opportunity to dine at the specialty restaurant which was italian. It was absolutely fabulous. The food was outstanding as well as the presentation and service. The main dining was great too, the food met my every expectation. Staff were great. Our stateroom was kept so clean. Our attendant cleaned the cabin three times a day. We were a little disappointed that there was only two midnight buffets. We cruised for 8 days 7 nights. We purposely choose the early dinner anticipating the midnight buffet. Not to say there wasn't enough to eat :) The ports of call were very nice. The beach we loved the most was St. Maarten.

A Cruiser's Cruise by HarryA2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Once on board almost all ship personal were wonderful. Only met one who, when asked where cabin 75__ was, said "It's on deck 7!" Otherwise the staff was very professional and helpful. The check in process was very disorginized. Luggage delivery was normal. Food service in dinig room very professional and attentive without "hovering". Ate once in Purtofino and when finished wished we had booked it again. Cabin was very nice and the attendent was really on his game.

A somewhat wonderful cruise by MariaS7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I have been on the sister ship Explorer of the Sea and I found that to have been a better experience. Had issues with cabin as it was not smokefree. The attendant had problems getting the smell out. Had to shampoo the rug to get the smell out. They never seemed to have towels for use in the pool area. They were always out. This was the first time in 6 cruises that I was a bit disappointed.

An Incredible Honeymoon by MichaelD16

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our honeymoon, I had sailed before, but this was my wifes first cruise. The ship is absolutely striking when you first board, one immediately forgets that you are onboard a seagoing vessel and not in a Vagas hotel, (which is both a pro and con). We were special needs meals and were frustrated that you table had been messed up, but a stop and the dining room cleared it up, and we were soon on our way to a wonderfull vaction. There could definetly have been more hottubs (or smaller ones) for honeymooners (there were 80 on our sailing) but for a fun cruise with a wonderful ship, good service, and great ports of call, we highly recommend the adventure.

Best vacation we've had in 20 years by Jeff41452095

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We had the best vacation in 21 years! The ship was amazing. The service was outstanding. The entertainment was great. The food was excellent. We had a Jr. suite which was really great, large balcony. Overall we had a fabulous cruise. We were very nervous before the cruise because we had never been before and we thought we would feel trapped or confined. We were amazed how large the ship was, it took a couple of days just to veiw the entire ship. We loved it!

Just an OK experience by JoeV6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship felt like a hotel chain that's been around for a while. Cleanliness is very important, and it didn't smell clean at all especially in the Windjammer Cafe. Twice it smelled fishy even when the staff was continuously cleaning floors. Twice, I opened my table napkin to silverware that was dirty ( the first time it had dried strawberry yogurt on it, and the second time it had an oily shimmer to it). I didn't go back there again. Always ate at the dining room instead although I did notice that the dark laminated walls weren't polished clean from the heavy traffic of body parts that flow through the dining area. It's amazing how daylight can make one notice these things. Our table had an excellent wait staff and we were fortunate enough to be seated with two other wonderful families. Our dining experience was the best part of the trip because it felt like we were one big family visiting each other. The entertainment was just okay--just made lively by the terrific personality of the cruise director Richard Spacey. Very funny guy! Our older kids enjoyed the cruise experience overall because they are at the age where hanging out was the preferred choice than seeing the ports. We had an inside stateroom which was a bit cramped. Again, the room didn't smell fresh at all. We had a clogged sink on the second day which our stateroom attendant promptly took care of. Around the 4th or 5th day, the water flowing from the faucet sink turned yellow brown and we reported it to guest relations.

return to rcl by PatriciaM36

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Beautiful ship with LOTS of choices of entertainment or just relaxing. Food was great. Windjammer food got a little old but overall it was a great experience. I don't think we will ever fly through Puerto Rico airport again. Mass chaos, not able to process two cruise ships full of people. Too small and unorganized, VERY bad experience.
