Review summary

This was our second cruise on RCL so we were familiar with the ship and it's layout. What an amazing vessel! From the Promenade to the pools to the climbing wall, it was all just as wonderful as the first time. You don't really appreciate the grandeur of the Adventure of the Seas until you get off the ship and see it sitting at the dock. It's a wonder it can even float! The Cruise Director and his staff, the dining room staff and the stateroom attendants were always pleasant and helpful and promptly took care of the passengers in a timely manner. As before, the food was excellent with the addition of more vegetarian and healthful choices. As for the entertainment, there was something for everyone, young and old. Embarkation and disembarkation have been streamlined so things were smoothe from beginning to end. We look forward to our next RCL cruise!

Ports of call

Oranjestad, Aruba

It was very windy the day we were there but we enjoyed the port. We rented a jeep from American Jeep and went to Baby's Beach and eagle Beach. Shopping was fun and relatively inexpensive. We also visited the California Lighthouse and enjoyed the nagnificent view of the city from there. After dinner on the ship, we went out to Carlos and Charlies. Although it was too loud for us, our three young adult children spent the remander of the evening there and had a great time with their fellow shipmates.
Don't Miss: Carlos and Charlies

Our favorite port by far. Looking out our port window, we knew we were in for a great day. The island is gorgeous and clean and the water is what you see in travel magazines. We first went to Magen's Bay early in the morning and it was peaceful and pristine until it rained. It was good while it lasted. We sat and had a drink at the bar and then headed back to the shopping area. Wow! We've never seen so mant jewelry stores and what great prices! We hadn't planned on it, but we ended up purchasing two pieces of jewelry at at great prices!
Don't Miss: Magen's Bay and the jewelry shopping in town

This was our second favorite port . Although the roads were in terrible shape, our taxi driver was the best, driving us from the Dutch side to the French side in a matter of a few hours. We first went to Orient Beach where we encountered our first nude sunbathers. We rented kayaks and paddled out to an island and had an enjoyable day. The water was beautiful and warm. We then went to Maho Beach where the airplanes fly directly over your head before landing at the local airport. For our children, this was a highlight. We then went shopping and coouldn't believe the great prices for liquor, jewelry, electronics and linens. We wisshed we had done a bit more research in this area before arriving there.
