Good adventure for the price!!! by moiseslopez1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I have taken 4 cruises prior to this one, so I feel comfortable sharing my thoughts about this cruise:

- Very good price for the number of stops

- Crew staff was courteous and professional: the room attendant (house keeping) did a very good job at remembering everyone's name, as well at remembering people's habits, such as time of leaving and/or coming back to the room.

- Dining: the team was nice and also did a good job at remembering your favorite food and beverage. (this was for both breakfast and dinner)

- Evening shows at the auditorium were very good (4 stars); games at the pool were fun (day time) but did very little if any during the evenings (pool areas) - They could add a drinking game or eating contest (pizza, hot dogs or hamburgers)

- I love the Cafe Shop (almost like Starbucks)

Opportunities

- Tours were more expensive than what I expected: on one of the islands my fiancé and I did a similar tour offered by the Cruise line for just $2 more and had the whole Taxi to ourselves and with an extra hour to enjoy another part of the island

- The cruise ship did not have many restaurants to chose from for dining, though they had themes days (small part in the buffet area) to break the routine but did not have much variety of foods

- The islands in the caribbean are so small that the ship, during departure, could sail around the islands for everyone to see the different beaches and points of interest

- Lots of guess like to go to the the Beach so most tours should include a beach on the way back to the ship (I know they offer some but not many, as well as they offer the Catamaran but those book quickly so maybe they should increase the number of Catamarans tours)

- Many TV shows were the same reruns day after day ( you might feel trap on a loop, like the Groundhog Day) - Please add channels to your TV

In short, this is a good cruise if you want to visit different island but as for on board to do/eat not much variety.

P.S. The gym and the rock climbing are great adds

Adventure of the Seas Cruise from 7/11 - 7/18/2015 by arseneremy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Dear Ms. Nim

We, the Remy family would like to thank you for arranging our last cruise to Southern Caribbean in Adventure of the Seas from July 11 to July 18, 2015.

Overall, this cruise was a great experience because the services were excellent as provided from all the crews ship.   My husband and I are so grateful and happy to have such a spectacular and a safe vacation with Royal Caribbean.  All the staff in the ship to include the Captain and the cruise Director , Dan who were very engaged with the guests on board, the room service attendant, Mr. Froilan Lago, the dining room's waiters, Mario and Ms. Chen.  Ms, Chen told us that she is just hired as an Assistant waiter in the ship, but her interaction with us was kind and generous.

Overall, we had a wonderful and unforgettable vacation.  The Adventure of the Seas ship is highly recommended to anyone who wants to have a taste of life.

We present our thanks to all the staff who provided us their services in the ship.

Overall rating stars = 5

With gratitude and thanksgiving

Mr./Mrs. Remy

New York

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT by evash428

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was my families first cruise and I decided to go with Royal Caribbean as I thought they were the best. I was sadly mistaken the food was horrible and so was the service. My daughter went to ask for soda and the attendant was very rude to her just for asking for a cup of soda. I decided to get a haircut on my third day at the spa and the hair stylist was rude and butchered my hair. I had to come home and get my haircut even shorter to have it fixed because she went scissor happy on my hair and on top of that i was charged over $90 dollars for it. my sister had mold on her bathroom door and repeatedly asked for it to be cleaned and she was told that they could not clean it! I spent over so much money on this cruise and will probably never cruise again as this experience was enough for me!

Awesome experience! Definitely recommend! by meggs9120

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was an awesome experience! Excellent service, great entertainment, clean ship, etc. Not a bad thing to say! We went on 4 excursions: swimming with the dolphins in St. Maarten, Horse back riding in Antigua, 4x4 Waterfall in St. Lucia, and 4x4 Green Monkey excursion in Barbados. We would definitely recommend doing at least one excursion if not all...and it was much easier booking through the ship! Did not have to worry about being back on time or getting ripped off!

Great Relaxing Vacation by guruone

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

WOW- everything was great. just one caveat, we got 2 inches of water from the toilet and flooded our suit cases, clothes and I-pad that was placed on floor. We were offered some reasonable compensation. BUT this was not really enough to cover what we lost. We were told to contact you guys about the rest. Besides the fact that the total peaceful cruise was out the window with loss of 2 nights sleep.

Good time but somewhat disappointed by nzmitchell11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

we enjoyed our room and attendant, had very good service. Was very disappointed with the Windjammer. All the food was pretty bad and very bland. The omelette station was the only decent part, although the omelettes were pretty small. We were also disappointed with the mytime dining set up. On our previous cruise with Carnival, we got to sit with other couples each night and that was one of the best parts of our dining experience. We didn't get a choice to do that on this cruise. We were also a little disappointed with the entertainment. I'm not sure if it was the staff or the crowd but it seemed like the staff couldn't get people very excited or involved.

What a ship! by mclumsden

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We were so impressed with the size of the ship and the classiness of the decor.  Every detail was addressed.  The service was excellent.  The food was delicious and always forthcoming.  The ride was smooth--you could forget you were even on the water---except for one day on the way home.  This was our first RC cruise and certainly not our last!

Just an OK Cruise Vacation by jules1317

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was just an OK cruise for our family of 8.  I was expecting a bit more from RC, we had a better vacation on a Carnival cruise last year.  The food in the Main Dining area was good while the food in the Windjammer buffet was just mediocre. We ate at the specialty restaurant Giovanni's Table and thought the food was nothing special and certainly not worth spending almost 3 hours there for $25 per person. The staff was very courteous and helpful, especially when we had to deal with getting gluten free food. The rooms are a tad too small, OK for a couple. We had oceanview and it was just too small for 3 of us. We did have problems with our toilet not flushing on 4 different instances. Our families other cabin had a wet floor the entire trip and had to have a fan blowing on it. For the ship just having an upgrade, more improvements should have been made to the staterooms. The entertainment was OK, nothing special, however, I did enjoy the ice show. The big movie screen was OK, but it would have been nice to have something on it all day during sea days, maybe the World Cup competition or movie. There really was not a whole lot going on at sea days unless you wanted to be crowded in a packed pool with drunks or see a belly flop contest or sexiest man contest. There was no place for 10 - 14 year olds to swim or have fun in pools, too packed with adults, especially when they close down one pool in the middle of the afternoon to have swim aerobics. The Royal Promenade was just OK as well. A couple of bars, Ben & Jerry's and some shopping stores. The stores did not have a good selection of merchandise, which is good for me as I did not spend much money at all. The island itinerary was good, I would skip St. Kitts next time, but loved Aruba & Curacao. Overall, a  good vacation, great staff, but would not go back on this ship.

my thoughts by rdwalker0528

Great trip. I enjoyed all the port calls. The staff was amazing. Very clean ship from top to bottom. I would highly recommend better embarking process in Puerto Rico. Also adult activities could use some variety. The drink packages not clearly defined.

Royal Caribbean by ppaarlberg

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Everything was perfect!  With one exception...the transportation to the airport was a nightmare.  A plus:  We had dinner every night with son, dil, and 3 grandsons in the dining room...what a delight!

Caribbean Cruise by jimnancy10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our first cruise so we didn't really have anything to compare it to, but we had a wonderful time.  The ports were great and the excursions we participated in were a lot of fun.  When on the ship, there was always something to do since there were so many options.  Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed the staff we met on the ship.

Ok vacation by scottdeason

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The food was not very good, ate in the main dining room one time and it was ok nothing real exciting. The cabin porters were really nice and did a great job the whole cruise. The Shore excursion staff member I came into contact with was quite rude and not helpful at all. The ship was clean plenty to do on board.

Just OK: I expected more WOW!! by JacksonzMom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

1st time on RCCL and I expected a very noticeable difference from NCL and there wasn't. The food wasn't anything special and for a Caribbean cruise, it lacked a Caribbean food experience. My cabin seemed so small and I didn't particularly care for partial white wall balcony. My ship had an ice-skating rink but there really weren't a lot of open skate times. There were also no major shows on this cruise. There was a comedian that loads of people walked out on and I heard that the ice skating show was not good. For what I paid on RCCL I could have had a larger room on NCL AND saw a good show!

The cruise was great in general, only thing I didn't like was the food and checkout process The staff was awesome they where all very kind and funny. I came like 10 years ago to ths cruise and it is still the same, except they took out the famous man pointing with the finger.

Fabulous Crew by markzink13

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We invested in a Mini Suite and thoroughly enjoyed the extra room.  The ship itself was in excellent condition.  I'm not sure how some people reported it was "shabby". With one exception the food in the restaurant was fabulous. (Don't order the surf and turf if you are expecting to get the listed large lobster tail, You will get a full small lobster instead)  Where the ship really shines is the staff.  Throughout the ship the crew is fantastic.

Vacaciones by normasaez

Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Adventure of the Seas by cjournigan9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Of all the cruises I have been on, this ranked in the average category.  I was a little disappointed in the activities offered on the ship.  There were many days when we could not find anything to do and forget about relying on cruise compass for advice because the activities listed were not accurate.  I was also not impressed with the food.  The buffet became unappealing so we started eating in the main dining room for breakfast and lunch.  Overall, the ports were great, except for Antigua.  Don't expect a lot from this port.  It was very dirty there and the people were quite rude.  Be prepared to be taken advantage of by the cab drivers.
