Review summary

It was our first cruise and there were some very good experiences. The food was great and service personnel were very nice and helpful! I did not like the hassle of getting a coke as much. We did not purchase a drink package. Alcohol or otherwise and so every time we wanted a coke it seemed to be a problem. I did not mind having to pay for one but it seemed silly to have to pull out seapass and then sign every time we got one! I also did not care for being bombarded with sales pitches everywhere! At one point we saw a sign where they didn’t want you taking pictures in front of the Christmas tree? Really? That was absurd!

Embarkation

This was one of the most miserable experiences of the cruise. It was over 2 hours standing in lines in the heat. No water in sight. It was not clear where to go and stand in line . I fimLly found a vendor selling ice cream and that helped some.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining room’s food was excellent! The chops grille and Giovanni’s was exquisite! The food in windjammer was ok. I enjoyed Johnny Rockets because it was the only place I got a coke without a hassle.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We spent time in the pool areas and also saw the ice show performance. These activities were pleasant. We enjoyed strolling on the ship and taking pictures in the early morning and at sundown.

Jewelry Shop

3 out of 5

There were A LOT of jewelry shops available. I was not impressed with the inflated prices of the watches. Especially the Invicta watches! I found the exact watch my husband liked on Amazon for $162.00. It had a sticker price retail of $795 with a 75percent off sale!! Seems like it was way over priced to make someone feel they were getting a deal. Not good policy in my opinion

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We only attended the ice show. And it was excellent! Good entertainment!

Children's Programs

We did not have children with us

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The waiters and wait staff, bartenders, and our room attendant were all excellent.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship appeared neat and clean.! The ship was laid out well. The main Christmas tree was very nice. Some of the other decorations were holidays seemed to be thrown up haphazardly. I observed several smaller trees were not decorated well as if they were in a hurry to get them up.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin size was adequate and our attendant was great about keeping bed neat and supplying plenty of towels he also entertained us with cute animal shapes when displaying our towels.

Ship tip

Be prepared to be bombarded with sales pitches from everywhere.

St. John's, Antigua

We did not care much for this stop. Too many people bombarding you trying to sell merchandise! We did get some nice pictures of a church in the area.

Fort-De-France, Martinique

This port was beautiful. We had a guided tour of the area. Would have enjoyed this more if there had been more stops a long the way. The excursion we had purchased was cancelled and we had to rebook another one.

Castries, St. Lucia

St Lucia was beautiful! Our excursion we took however was quite misleading. We were told we would be stopping for a beach time which ended up pulling into the bay, dropping a ladder to go in to water from the boat, and then being inundated by locals in kayaks trying to sell you some trinkets! The people doing the excursion knew these folks and seemed like a planned activity. Then we were supposed to see the pitons. Well that consisted of 5 minutes parked half mile out in the water. But did not make for great picture opportunities. Then party hardy on the way back.

Bridgetown, Barbados

5 out of 5
This was by far the most beautiful of our ports! And the way you got in to the port was handled much better. Our excursion was excellent and loafing the bus for this excursion was much easier and went more smoothly than any of the others This day was best by far!

Disembarkation

It went smoothly. We were later getting off the ship but it went smoothly as well as customs and getting a taxi to our hotel.
