Marvelous Bucket List Trip by Cruiser64656037

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Flora / Destination: Galapagos

Our Galapogos adventure was beyond expectations. Stay curious and open to the beautiful surroundings - which are like none other on this planet! Challenging to put into words what you will see & do. Our delightful naturalists demonstrated an absolute love of their heritage, their lovely country, and, of course, their marvelous national park: The Galapogos Islands. We will never be the same. Spiritually graces you. Blessings!

Wonderful ship and crew by Cruiser22583718

I love the Galapagos but wish I had more time on the islands themselves. The tenders are great as are the naturalists that escort us.

Best way to experience the Galapagos Islands by mcomisky4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Flora / Destination: Galapagos

Our expectations were surpassed! The beauty and wonder of the Galapagos were extraordinary. The amount of flora and fauna we saw was mind-blowing, and the way we experienced them was incredible. Our time onboard the Celebrity Flora was phenomenal: friendly and knowledgeable naturalists, varied excursion options, luxurious cabins, delicious food, a beautiful ship, and stellar service throughout. It was one of the best trips our family has taken!

Nature at its Best- Galapagos Islands by Cruiser91829025

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Xpedition / Destination: Galapagos

An action packed go-go -go experience for nature lovers. The small ship gives opportunities for different kinds of interactions with others on the trip as well as the staff. The Nature staff was outstanding and the Zodiac drives had super skills. All in all a wonderful experience.

Viking Should have Cancelled this Cruise when the Itinerary Dramaticvally Changed by SherryLucy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Jupiter / Destination: South America

Tgis was our first Viking Oceran Cruise. We have been on 3 River cruises and Viking has aleays cancelled IF they could not provide the top-notch cruise exoerience they are know for. This Viking Jupiter cruise should have been cancelled. It definitely wss NOT worth the money when the top cruise ports were cancelled and the half of the trours we went on were fair/poor. I wish we had cancelled our selves, but with only 3 days notice, we were all packed and had gone through the horiible process to get the Chilean documentation. We also paid for business class for a trip that was very disappointing. The crew did do what they could to try to make on board activities "interesting" but our Viking cruise experince was well below what we expected from Viking,

Stellar Service and Safety, Disappointing Itinearary by mcolvin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Jupiter / Destination: South America

This cruise itinerary was drastically changed. Instead of round Cape Horn and traveling to the Falklands, Uruguay, and Argentina; we went to Cape Horn and returned to Santiago. Viking made the decision about one week prior to the cruise setting sail. They gave everyone the option to cancel which most people did. Unfortunately, we were already in Chile doing a private pre-cruise excursion when the emailed itinerary change arrived. The trip went from 4 countries to 1 with only 3 port stops outside of embarkation/debarkation. If at home, we would have cancelled. The silver lining was very few passengers on board (123 out of 930 with 450 crew). Kudos to Viking for continuing to run the cruise despite losing revenue to do so. Also, kudos to Viking for their safety protocols. After the first day of quarantine on board the ship, I don't believe there were any additional positive Covid cases. Viking kept us in a bubble which means we were not allowed to visit towns independently, eat outside of a Viking excursion, or shop. This was another disappointment, but it kept all of us healthy. We saw other cruise lines pull into ports and not be allowed to dock because they had so many Covid cases on board. Those passengers were stranded on the ships with nowhere to go. They lingered at anchor for I don't know how many days awaiting to pass quarantine. At present, Viking is the only cruise line still sailing in South America due to all the government restrictions. Despite the disappointing itinerary, Viking did a marvelous job making our sea days interesting and informative.

Celebrity Flora is nicest Expedition ship we’ve ever been on by stevehouk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Flora / Destination: Galapagos

We have been on 2 CelebrityX cruises in the Galapagos. Flora is a great ship. For sure, get a balcony cabin. As far as Inner Loop vs. Outer Loop, that is a tough question. Each has some outstanding stops, and each has some less outstanding stops, with fewer animals. I’d like to do a 14 day cruise on Flora and do BOTH. For me, the snorkeling excursions were the highlights.

A glorious vacation...perfect...best trip we've ever taken! by melaniehitz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Flora / Destination: Galapagos

This was the most fabulous trip we have ever taken! Every day was another amazing experience. We got to know most of the people on board because the number of passengers is so much smaller than most other cruises. This created a lot of fun and laughter. We would recommend doing the package deal to include Quito, Ecuador before and after the cruise. This was a first-class trip from start to finish. We couldn't recommend it more highly.

WE ARE STUCK IN PUERTO MONTT CHILE RIGHT NOW. by Awesomeatoms

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Jupiter / Destination: South America

Viking disembarked us (tested positive upon arrival despite 3 vaccines with the most recent being ~2 weeks ago) and stranded us in Puerto Montt Chile with little to no support. There are 8 Viking guests in a substandard govt provided "hotel". Our emails are being ignored by Viking and we have no idea of timeline. My room does not have AC,heat, hot water, the window is falling off it's hinges. My wife who tested negative is being kept on a floor with COVID positive patients! Why?! Logic says keep all positive on one floor and negative contacts on another. The Chilean health people told me that we "might" get tested which is terribly concerning because we absolutely need a negative results to fly home. There is no reliable system in place to deal effectively with disembarked passengers. The u.s. embassy has advised there is nothing they can do. THIS IS A NIGHTMARE THAT MY WIFE AND I CANNOT ESCAPE FROM.

Heart breaking cruise by gaterp53

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Jupiter / Destination: South America

Viking management was not forthcoming with information from the moment we landed in the airport. Very confusing experience throughout the cruise. They kept the truth from us, very few announcements about what was (NOT) happening and then some were meaningless leading to another trip down to guests services for explanations. So insulting and ridiculous the way Viking treated us. They obliviously don’t know their market. Don’t expect any help to get you home if you booked your own travel arrangements when they strand you in another port/country that was not your ending one It will add cost to a very expensive cruise. Heartbroken.

South America Cape Horn Princess Cruise by mickeyhammad

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Coral Princess / Destination: South America

Cruising around Cape Horn is a costly, but well worth it! You will see penguins in their natural habitats and other animals unique to S. America. Buenos Aires and Santiago are worth visiting and the Amalia Glacier was spectacular.

Good but not Great by jssinc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Le Lyrial / Destination: South America

Highlight was the destination. Ship Stabilizers are great. Ship really cuts through a high waves/heavy seas and winds of the Drake Passage. We felt very safe. Safety first as very evident all the time on this trip. Wish the Naturalist Staff had been better. We had one British Lady that was outstanding. A Swedish Gentlemen that was great. They both spoke excellent English and were very knowledgeable. They clearly loved their job. Two more guides were pretty good with moderate English skills to a couple "English" speaking naturalist that were truly awful. Poor presentations. Very little interest in really telling you anything in the field and should find another career. I just learned to try and get on the Zodiac with the good naturalist if at all possible when Zodiac tours were the activity. Passing on presentations by the poor quality naturalists. Searching out the good naturalists if I had any questions when on shore. 1 The other half of the naturalist were not English speaking (when it came to activities with them) and we did not have much interaction with them. We watched a lot of Movies in the evenings and even during the long sea days when not much was going on of interest on the ship. There was a lot of free time. Bring some good reading for this cruise! I am so glad we did the trip that included Falklands and South Georgia! The animals were amazing there!
