Review summary

This was the most fabulous trip we have ever taken! Every day was another amazing experience. We got to know most of the people on board because the number of passengers is so much smaller than most other cruises. This created a lot of fun and laughter. We would recommend doing the package deal to include Quito, Ecuador before and after the cruise. This was a first-class trip from start to finish. We couldn't recommend it more highly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Yummy food. Lots of food offered throughout the day.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We had so many excursions each day, that we didn't spend time doing much on board other than eating, drinking, visiting with friends and sitting on our balcony. This is what made us happy.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Again, since this is a different type of cruise, fancy shows are not necessary. We enjoyed beautiful piano and pan flute performances, documentaries and presentations about the Galapagos. That is all we needed.

Children's Programs

No kids in our group.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had top notch service in all categories. It couldn't have been better than it was! The Naturalists really enhanced the excursions. They would take out small groups and give so much wonderful information. And they were so excited about it. It made it even more special.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was beautiful, easy to get around in, lovely in every way. We also loved that the ship was eco-friendly in so many ways, very important in the Galapagos. Everything was perfectly clean. We had everything we needed and more!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The suite was the most gorgeous bedroom and bathroom that we have ever had on a cruise (and sparkling clean!). King size bed facing the balcony sliding doors. Nice-sized balcony with comfortable outdoor furniture. A bathroom as roomy as a nice bathroom at home. Beautiful and luxurious all the way around. We especially loved the filtered water faucet in the bathroom so our drinking water was readily available without plastic bottles.

Ship tip

Get ready for a fabulous cruise on the most elegant & comfortable ship you will ever sail on. Do all of the excursions if you can. Get ready to meet many new friends since the passenger group is small. Every staff member is fantastic!

Did the short, difficult trail hike. Beautiful. The trail hike was tough (you need a walking stick or two-they provide) but the views of the animals & scenery were amazing and shouldn't be missed- Sally Lightfoot Crabs, "Christmas" Marine Iguanas, Sea Lions of all ages, Nazca Boobies etc.

Cormorant Point, Floreana, Galapagos

Took the short hike to the lake where we saw lots of birds including one, lone American Flamingo, Sanderlings, Plovers & Whimbrels, baby Blue-footed Boobies. Also snorkeled here & swam with a Green Turtle, saw a chocolate-chip Sea Star & many colorful fish.

Bahia Post Office, Floreana, Galapagos

Did the short walk and saw Land Iguanas, large Tortoises, & Yellow Warblers. The Naturalists take you out on every excursion with small enough groups that you can hear the wonderful information they provide.

Punta Espinoza, Fernandina, Galapagos

Did the Short Walk on the volcanic coast and saw many more Iguana, some baby Iguana hatching in the rocks, beautiful crab, sea lions and a shy snake in the rocks. Also did a Deep Water Snorkel and swam with a huge Green Turtle and many fish.

Punta Vicente Roca, Isabela, Galapagos

5 out of 5
Did a tender ride to the most fabulous place to see so many things: a group of Galapagos Penguin, a group of Flightless Cormorants, many Green Turtles swimming near our tender, the Galapagos Fur Seal climbing huge rocks, and many more Blue-footed Boobies. It was a shangri-la for animals here!

South Plaza, Santa Cruz, Galapagos

Did the short walk, it was rockier than anticipated. Saw the beautiful red, Sesuvium (Galapagos Carpet), Prickly Pear Cactus trees, Swallow Tail Gulls including babies, the RedBilled TropicBird and Darwin Finches. Beautiful views too.

Dragon Hill, Santa Cruz, Galapagos

Did the short walk, wasn't able to see much today. (We have been so fortunate to see so much on every other excursion, it was ok.)

Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz, Galapagos

Because of COVID rules, we were not able to go to the Charles Darwin Research Center but we planted baby Scalesia trees to replenish the forest and had a great visit/lunch at El Manzanillo Ranch where we had very close views of the Giant Tortoises, of all sizes.
