Overall we had a great time.did not let any problems interfere with with our great cruise

On of the best vacations ever will do again , food was excellent , entertainment top notch , excellent cruise line

We're glad we did one Viking river cruise. However, in the future we plan to stay with ocean cruises which cost less and offer more food choices in a much more pleasant atmosphere. With all the liquor served onboard the Aegir, lunch and dinner in the dining room were very, very loud. We could hardly converse with each other because of the extremely loud passengers all around us. Because river cruises are "all inclusive" we paid for alcohol we did not drink, and had to endure the people who certainly got their money's worth. At most of the ports our side of the ship had good views, but sometimes we were tied up side by side with other Viking ships at the same docking space & had no view, & had to keep our drapes closed, as did the cabin facing us. In Budapest the Viking Tor was between 2 other ships; neither side of their cabins had any view of that beautiful city; that was a shame, and a real disappointment for passengers that had no view.

Not enough activites for singles. I thought there would be more. Or at least notify us of activities. I completely missed the first activity because I was unaware of it. Would have been nice to meet others at the beginning of the cruise.

Very glad I did this trip. Somewhat disappointed with Carnival and the lack of making a bigger deal out of the fact that it was the maiden voyage with passengers.

Ship and suites were tired. Reminiscent of an older Vegas casino. Staff was dour. Only formal dining room people were pleasant and customer oriented. Long lines at reception desk, phone was nver answered. Tour staff was combative. Most tours were a bad value. Poor tour guides, multiple languages on board diminishing information transmitted and little content. The disembarkation for daily tours was a nightmare. Hundreds of people pushing down one stairwell to be bottlenecked by one cruise card scanner before ship exit. A general and irritable cattlecall. All tours returned generally at the same time so onboard procedure was just as bad. Buffet lines consequently backed up with waits. Inside was a zoo. Europeans have a push, shove and no manners culture (at least this group at these prices). It was like taking a Greyhound bus from coast to coast. If price is all that matters, the cruise is ok. Too bad because it is a good itinerary.

As I said that I won't cruise on Norweigan again due to the salty food, and a man jumping off the boat causing us to miss a port that we paid to see. There was no compensation from the ship to make me want to try another cruise.

I'd love to sign up a Chinese speaking river cruise in Europe but strangely nobody onboard could provide me with a contact number or email. It's a mystery to me why Viking makes it so difficult for non China Chinese to book such tours. Doing so will enable me to bring along my parents and their friends who don't understand English.

The cruise ship is very clean and well maintained. The ports were exciting and the ship arrived early and stayed late, giving us maximum time to enjoy the port. The staff was helpful and gracious. Overall we had a wonderful time.

OK experience but next time I'll probably use another cruise line.

We know weather was raining and windy, but to miss 3 ports is not very good for only a 9 day cruise ! We wonder why could the MSC cruise ship get into the ports on the days we could not get in, is the MSC a better more stable ship ? should we have taken their cruise ? Excursions on Viking Star - very short and quality is poor, with little value, even the ones that are extra fees. 40 plus guests are TOO many on included and those with an extra charge !! We will need to understand if there is a problem with the Viking Star or the captain, before we consider travel on it again. Hotel and Food & Beverage were OK.

aproximately 7 of our friends will be traveling with you after our experience. And we will be back tooooo...

Only negative was the wine police that CONFISCATED our stuff. Chinsey chinsey chinsey

This cruise is tailored to Italian tastes, so if are expecting a Royal Carribean type of all-inclusive food and entertainment, you will not see it here. The staff was generally friendly and eager to help.

Viking did an excellent job of rescheduling many excursions due to uncooperative weather. Well done!

Although the the first two days were two fats of hell, flight delays and being stuck overnight in New Jersey and being 25 hours late boarding the ship, the cruise was more than I expected. Great ship and even better service from staff. Only problem, as noted earlier, was with the shower and it not being handled in a timely manner. Also Venice could have been handled better.

This was our 19th cruise and after taking the same ship the year before we were grossly disappointed. Thought some things that were added were cute, but most of what we experienced we were disappointed with. most unfortunate that my husband spent so much time complaining about our cruise when we usually spend that time having fun.

Ship was great ; weather not; substitution of Naples(which we didnt see) and Palma well below our high expectations. Our Viking River trip on the Danube set the bar high formking mid course corrections! I would expect some credit on our next trip (australia in 1/19) will be made.

The Viking experience was our best yet. We took another company's river cruise last year and thought we had experienced the best until this cruise. While still on a fairly small ship, the Viking Star was elegant as she was equipped with the finest staff, cuisine, lodging, and excursion choices. We look forward to our next Viking cruise!!

Great itinerary. Very comfortable balcony room. Generally good on the food, but menu should be revised to include more vegetarian/vegan friendly options. Stage entertainment very good.
