HONEYMOON NIGHTMARE! by CruiseMOM1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Diadema

I am simply aghast. I gifted my son & new daughter-in-law, thru my travel agent, a Honeymoon cruise on the same ship I was on previously, Costa Diadema, because I loved it. BUT I am beyond sick to my stomach after hearing from them on Monday, June 5, 2023. Instead of walking into a cabin with a queen/king size bed, they got to their room and found themselves with what apparently is a sofa couch AND a twin bed!! Apparently these rooms can't be made up into KING SIZE beds. (After speaking to my travel agent, even they were shocked! The info available to them, says two twins convertible into king!) My son & DIL immediately went to Guest Services, FIVE HOURS BEFORE LEAVING DOCK, even spoke to a Supervisor, as I did here in America, they were told there was nothing they could do; BUT they could move them IF they paid €400/pp. (€800) to upgrade, only then could they have a room where two twins would be pushed together to make 1 king size bed. UTTERLY RIDICULOUS! Where is the compassion, consideration & understanding to a once in a lifetime (HONEYMOON) event?! This cabin is advertised as convertible beds, like 99% of the cabins onboard!!! I'm sooo disappointed, I could cry! This isn't what I paid for! They're in a GUARANTEED room! It should, at the very least, have a KING SIZE BED for a newlywed couple! THIS is INSANITY! I have to believe there had to be ONE cabin on the ship that is EMPTY so they can share the same bed! (Tho LOGIC tells me there is - for €800!) Who can't see how cruel & ridiculous this horrendous treatment is?! SOOO now my son & his beautiful new wife are on their honeymoon, sleeping in twin beds across the room from each other... Unbelievable!! Talk about ruining a special couple's honeymoon trip! What was meant to be an extraordinary memory has turned into a nightmare!!! Costa Cruises NEEDS to make this right!!! Ruining a once in a lifetime honeymoon feels so heartless and cruel.

Wonderful Med Cruise with lots of ports of call by toddandkelly

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Symphony of the Seas

We loved the ships and ports, I wish would would have had more than one sea day to recoup before more excursions. We loved the weather, we slept with our balcony door every night.

Fabulous Cruise by Barnmom66

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Edge

In summary...I would do this cruise again if given the chance. I might not do as many excursions, as I felt the week flew by. The staff, ship, food and accommodations were top notch!

Fun and comfortable way to experience the F1 Monaco Grand Prix! by Jenx3989

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Azamara Pursuit

This was our very first cruise and overall we were very pleased with how comfortable it was and how friendly the staff were. The staff really made it very enjoyable for us! I was unfortunately disappointed that we never seemed to have any decent conversations with any of the other passengers though, even though most of them were F1 fans as well. They were mostly white. The British ones in particular were standoff-ish and never bothered to say hello, or if they did, it was in a very disinterested and curt way. Not very friendly at all. If it weren’t for the friendliness of the staff, it could have easily become a rather poor experience based on the snobby behaviour of the other passengers. But we were mostly busy going about in ports on excursions or at the F1 track, so we had a good time anyway. The White Night Party was held on the evening of race day and the ship stayed in the Monaco harbour for several hours during the party. So it was a beautiful and glamourous way to enjoy the views and have a great time in Monaco! It’s a lovely and very comfortable way to attend the Monaco Grand prix and travel in style!

Enjoyable family vacation by Jelainegz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Symphony of the Seas

Overall, we had an amazing family vacation with our 4 adult daughters! There were inconveniences with the steward and the okay quality of the food but we still enjoyed the trip! Expect to pay a lot for drinks if you did not get the drink package..$15-18 a cocktail. Drink of the day was essentially nonexistent and if they had one you were still paying $13. Everything on the boat felt like a moneymaker. I do not feel the need to cruise on Royal Caribbean again. I will probably try another cruise line.

this was a nightmare we call Epic disaster. We were given case numbers to get refunds by harleygrlvt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Epic

This was the worst cruise I ever had. I have sailed with NCL before and it was a great experience. I along with other former cruisers agree NCL has gone down hill. Food , service, ship, What a terrible experience of what was a vacation I had planned for 2 years. My luggage was lost for 4 days. I only had clothes I was wearing. Was not even offered a robe. They gave me a laundry bag and said I could send out my clothes and sit naked in room I guess. Absurd. Door keys either did not work or we heard a guest complain someone walked in her room at 12:30 AM. Systems were often down. internet did not work unless you were in certain places. Not in state rooms, They gave us case numbers to request refunds I an requesting my money back. BTW this company gave back gratuities there by taking money from their own over worked crew rather than address the mis management. We never saw the general manager despite trying to make appointments, The complaint lines were long every day at guest services. Fights broke out from frustrated guests. They gave us a case number to request our money back. I also disputed my credit cards.

Costa toscana TRICKS YOU with the cabin they show you on the booking and what you get on the boat by sbl82

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Costa Toscana

After complaining several times at reception that the cabin assigned did not comply with the characteristics contracted as being 3 adults neither the space nor the type of beds was correct, apart from not corresponding to the photos which are provided by themselves, and in the event that I had seen that picture of cabin logically I would not have hired it. The response from reception was that the photos are sometimes a guide, that we should not rely on them, one of the answers was that they (the staff) sleeps like that.... We even asked for a complaint form, and nobody gave us anything Finally, one of us had to sleep on the floor with the mattress because at my age and weight I think that sleeping hanging on a wall is not very safe or comfortable. The rest of the cruise was good, the food very good, the rest of the service (apart from the reception staff) is lovely, and the facilities are fine. Another thing is the internet, such a rip-off as it is not stable at all and works very slowly, they are charging 100 euros for internet when is not reliable at all. I would advise if you need internet to wait until you are stopped in the destinations. For sure I will do another cruise, but I will think twice to do it with costa if this is the service, I am going to receive next time.

Western Mediterranean Cruise 2023 by Magicsneakers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Symphony of the Seas

This was a great trip to remember and make memories on! It was fast paced and very busy itinerary so if you are one to relax on a cruise this isn’t the cruise for you! 🤣 1 sea day on way back to Barcelona was great to try to relax before traveling back home!

Would I do it again? by mrjwkyle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Symphony of the Seas

This was a lovely, incredible ship. The entertainment, food and drink options were incredible. However the quality of the food was disappointing at times. The first time I’ve cruised without experiencing seasickness. I’ve cruised for 20 years now and the food has always been one of the highlights of this. Unfortunately, because this is such a large part of the experience, Royal would not be my preferred cruise line in the future. I would however recommend them for anyone with a family and kids that need entertaining and activities.

Best of Spain and Portugal by Dad4jc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Infinity

Traveled with another couple. Spent two extra days in Lisbon prior to cruise and took train to Sintra. First stop on cruise was Porto and we took a taxi cab to visit a bakery and purchase some fresh and warm Portuguese Nada custards. Walkable city.

Worse cruise ever by jclaribelmd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Costa Toscana

We only did Costa because our previous cruise was canceled last minute and we already had airline tickets bought. If I would had known how disorganized was I would had never gone. We were pushed and shoved in the buffet had to make super long lines to get food and most of the times we couldn’t find a table to sit.

First and last cruise with Costa by liverpool1961

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Smeralda

This was a huge letdown and unfortunately a lot of money was spent to find this out. Passengers were rude, loud, pushy and inconsiderate of others. One evening there was music played very loud and it kept us up until 2am. We missed our alarm clock and our expensive shore excursion was missed. We were offered the option of moving cabins. However, I find that a poor solution to the problem. Music should have been turned down. There were mostly young families on our cruise. I cannot imagine how any of them slept well either.

Great ports - NCL needs to increase its benefits by tsbabutler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Sun

Been on many cruises and this was the most disappointing. Only redeeming factor was the ports. Decreased service. It is like we were bothering them. No communication. Left outside ship for over an hour - no communication as to why and no apology. It is like they don't care - we got your money so no reason to ensure you stay.

Nice Itinerary and an old ship by AndreeaJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We booked for the first time with Norwegian mainly based on the itinerary and other good reviews read about the company. Really liked most the ports. The ship is old but it is nicely renovated on the inside. Really liked the 2 restaurants serving dinner but didn't understood why all restaurants were closing at 21:30 since is quite early. After 21:30 you can eat at the bar some burgers, nachos, etc. Loved the fact that you can opt to share the table with other people and we've met quite interesting ones. It wasn't that entertaining mainly because most of the people on board were quite old. The food was good and there is a nice variety of drinks you can enjoy. All in all it was a nice experience.
