In summary...I would do this cruise again if given the chance. I might not do as many excursions, as I felt the week flew by. The staff, ship, food and accommodations were top notch!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
It was smooth and flawless
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food in all facilities were very good! I have nothing bad to say about any of them. I ate at the buffet, the Cosmopolitan, Normandie and Tuscan and none disappointed me in any way. The service in the restaurants was classy but yet personal. The variety at the buffet was unbelievable. If you didn't like any of that food, then you are a picky eater lol
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The outdoor pool was too crowded for my liking. However the Solarium, Adult Only pool made up for it when I had the urge to go for a quick swim.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The entertainment in the Theatre was lovely. The quality of the sound was a little "tinny" at times, but not offensive. The performers were of great quality and high levels of talent. Charity Lockhart stole my heart with her amazing vocals and her sense of humour and sweet personality.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
I have never been said "good morning", "good afternoon" or "good evening" to so many times in my life as the week I was on the Edge. Everyone of them smiled and greeted me so warmly. When I was able, I spoke to many of them about their home country and what life was like living/working on a cruise ship.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Clean is not the word...impeccable is more like it. Nothing was out of place, not a piece of garbage was visible throughout the ship. The staff were on top of everything all the time. Even the washrooms you could have eaten off the floor, they were so clean (not that I would eat off a bathroom floor...or any floor for that matter lol)
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The room was spotless and comfortable. However, there was a definite shortage of storage to put my clothes. I didn't even travel heavy. 3 dresses, 5 pants, 7 shirts, undies, socks, 3 pairs of shoes, two bathing suits and jammies. If there was a second person in my room, we would not have had a spot to put their clothes.
Ship tip
With regards to a tip about the ship, I would have to say, look on your cabin door and see where your room in on the ship ie, Front, Middle, Back. That will help you guide your way around the ship as it can be confusing lol
Again, lovely port. Took an excursion to Florence...absolutely loved it. The stop at the Leather factory was fun, but very expensive there. If you are looking to buy leather, wait til you get into Florence City Centre. There is a market and stores with loads of leather to pick from at very good prices.
We did the excursion to Monte Carlo...lovely trip and a good amount of free time to roam around on your own. Nothing is cheap in this town lol. The food was reasonably priced and very good
There was a little confusion with the meeting location. My newsletter said mid ship and my friend who was right next door to me (my travel companion) had her newsletter that said meet at Theatre. We stayed with my location, mid-ship, and ended up avoiding the crowd that was in the theatre. Once we got off the ship, and headed to retrieve our bags was smooth. Then the final part of going to the bus to take us to the airport went well.
