Great Relaxing Cruise by kingsol53228492

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Empress of the Seas / Destination: Cuba

Although older and smaller than other Royal ship’s, Empress of the Seas provides a great cruise experience. Wonderful crew and nice ports of call. Great deal!

Extremely disappointed by dixiedi51

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Armonia / Destination: Cuba

I would definitely not cruise with MSC again. Poor steward service, food not every good, and balcony stateroom very small. Had two small pools and one was always closed. I was suppose to get a $100 on board credit. I did not receive it. Only thing was I enjoyed going to Cuba. Glad while we could still go there.

Disappointing by jshrout01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Cuba

Not sure what was wrong here but I went for my birthday celebration and left disappointed. Prior to this I was very favorable NCL past guest - no longer after this cruise. I will probably not cruise NCL next time. Maybe never again. They really blew it . I had a terrible guest experience.

Sadly one of the last Cuba cruises by scollins5315595

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Cuba

Overall we enjoyed ourselves primarily because of being able to go to Cuba. The food was average and the main dining room staff was not exceptional, unlike what I am used to when I have cruised before.

Most interesting by Hockeyplayer28

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Majesty of the Seas / Destination: Cuba

Good, but not great. Destination was not a vacation spot. Cuba, is not what you think it is, it is very poor, restrictive, and the state runs the tours. Propaganda abounds, it is an island version of Russia.

Norwegian Sun is nothing more than a boring yet comfortable ferry service by NeverNorwegian

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Cuba

If you want fun, choose another cruise. There was so little attention paid to activities and entertainment that it made the cruise feel longer than it was while at the same time feeling unsatisfied and disappointed with the time onboard. Food was the worst I've experienced on a cruise and the dessert was, more than once, inedible. I will be sticking to Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises in the future. Thoroughly disappointed with my first time on Norwegian.

Cuba - A New Adventure by lschaefer123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Majesty of the Seas / Destination: Cuba

We were excited about this cruise with the entire family. We loved our cabin attendant's attention to detail, the waiter and assistant waiter exceeded expectations, and the food was good. There was a charge for room service but the room was so small the room was the last place you would want to eat unless you had a balcony, which was sold out when we booked. There were great shows, lots of activities, snacks and easy on and off at ports, which was a pleasant surprise. We would cruise again with Royal Caribbean with this experience.

Smelly by EStearns

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Cuba

It was overall awful. Weve been on many cruises and this one smelled horrible and was just not enjoyable (again except for the wait staff of Oscar,I Ketut and Solomon).

One of the Last Cruises to Cuba for Awhile! by KarenK8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Cuba

We were very lucky to visit Havana before politics prevented it. The Cuban tour guides made more in tips than doctors make in a month. We enjoyed meeting new people every night for dinner at anytime dining. Ask to have a share table.

Cuban Culture and Caribbean Relaxantion by mcefaretti

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Majesty of the Seas / Destination: Cuba

My group of 4 friends enjoyed our cruise. I had been on the ship 18 years prior and it felt much newer other than the theater. Our room was smaller but still functioned well and we were able to watch the fortress of Havana as we went into port. Havana was a great place to visit and I really learned a lot about their culture. The pool area was well maintained and we enjoyed the addition of corn hole and giant jenga. The entertainment shows we went to were great but the entertainment staff wasn't out as much as some of my past cruises other than when events were planned. We enjoyed the food, but wish the pizza place had stayed open later on the Havana night as we needed some sustenance after dancing off dinner in Havana! If you're interested in seeing Havana, I'd definitely recommend this cruise. If you just want to experience cruising and don't care about the ports, I still recommend RCCL but consider looking at other ships.

Great food and staff HORRIBLE communication on the Cuba excursion and Bahamas by mkramella16

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

The food and staff were amazing but I am very disappointed with the Cuba mandatory excursion and not being able to go to the Bahamas, seemed as though the cruise was trying to make more money

Nostalgia by joefollrath

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sky / Destination: Cuba

This was for me a once-in-a-lifetime look at Havana Cuba. I think Norwegian did a very very good job, I also was very satisfied with how American Airlines help me select what I think is what I really wanted. I would recommend American Airlines in the region cruise lines for anyone that wants to take a look at Havana Cuba

Bait and Switch? by SanfordA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sky / Destination: Cuba

The cruise we went on was completely different from the one we purchased. We booked this cruise based on the fact it would spend ~34 hours at port in Havana (arrive @8:00 AM Tuesday, May 21st depart Wednesday, May 22nd @5:00 PM - one complete day with the opportunity to explore all the culture Havana has to offer the following morning into the afternoon) and ~8 hours at port in the Bahama's. In fact it was less than 24 hours in Havana (arrived as planned on Tuesday, May 21st but departed the morning of May 22nd) and apparently the water was to choppy in the Bahama's to disembark, although another cruise ship appeared to anchor and let it's passages enjoy the island. Instead...we had TWO full days at sea that were NOT part of the itinerary we purchased, (Wednesday May 22nd and Thursday May 23rd)! We purchased this cruise for two reasons 1) to visit Cuba and 2) becasue it only had evening 'at sea' time. I would not recommend this cruise to others considering we feel it was a complete 'bait and switch' i.e. purchase one thing but receive something totally different.

MSC Cuba cruise: very good port itinerary, disappointing execution. by lutzgelfman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Armonia / Destination: Cuba

As mentioned on other sites (Cruise Critic, Trip Advisor, etc.), nobody seems to be taking this cruise for a "grand cruise experience"- let's be real- It's the itinerary. In that regard, it measures up. And let's be honest, with these ports of call, especially if you're travelling with friends, even a mediocre cruise experience can still be a good , memorable adventure.
