Review summary
We were excited about this cruise with the entire family. We loved our cabin attendant's attention to detail, the waiter and assistant waiter exceeded expectations, and the food was good. There was a charge for room service but the room was so small the room was the last place you would want to eat unless you had a balcony, which was sold out when we booked. There were great shows, lots of activities, snacks and easy on and off at ports, which was a pleasant surprise. We would cruise again with Royal Caribbean with this experience.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
It was a little bit confusing with all the printed documents we had to bring for Cuba and we had two cabins.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The main dining for dinner was excellent! WE loved our head waiter Maureen and the Assistant Waiter Caspher! We thought about not doing dinner in the main dining room one night but we didn't want to miss seeing our awesome wait staff! We would have liked to have visited Johnny Rockets for milkshakes but the $10 p/person cover charge was ridiculous; not a good idea.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The pool, hot tub, outdoor movies and deck walks were our favorites.
Entertainment

Excellent entertainment - loved the nightly entertainment
Service and Staff

Winston was our man! He was awesome! That room was super small but it was well kept.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Not enough balcony rooms, which is what we tried to book but they were not available. The ship was old but it was clean, neat and tidy. There was plenty of deck space for chairs, etc.
Cabin / Stateroom

We are avid cruisers but it was our first with Royal Caribbean and it was true what we had always been told, Royal Caribbean's cabins are too small. We had NO closet space and hardly anywhere to get the luggage out of the way. We wanted a balcony but they were all sold out. The bathroom, although small, was well laid out. We liked the interior cabin locations with the door not opening into the main hall.
Ship tip
Go all the way up to the 14th floor for a fantastic view! A great place to enjoy a drink and relax with quiet. Check the Schooner bar; great photo spot!
A completely NEW adventure. We enjoyed meeting the people, riding in the antique cars, watching a floor show at the historic Tropicana, the feeling of safety was nice too. The taxi drivers would ask if you needed a car and if you said no, that was o.k. and if you said yes, they were ready to accommodate. The tax for the mandatory currency exchange was steep at 13%. Loved sharing some Hershey chocolate bars, which they loved very much. That's a luxury so bring some as a nice tip!
