I led this group cruise... by tecknicole

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Gem / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

I led this group cruise to nowhere.. my group consisted of 14 people. I have been on three nowhere cruises in the past so I know it's a great party atmosphere. Checking in this time, though, was chaotic. There were two NCL ships at port this time allowing guests on at the same time. It was a crazy large crowd with lots of lines but being my companion and I are GOLD with NCL, we only waited in one short line. Unfortunately, the rest of my group had to wait a while to board. After getting on board, we went to the pool deck as it was a warm January day! Party was in full swing with lots of great drinks and good food. The buffet, as usual, was jam packed so be sure you find a buffet on the pool or the back of the ship as well. There is also additional seating in the Italian restaurants for breakfast and lunch. In addition to all that, they had a pool side BBQ at 3:45pm. We stopped at our cabin (interior.. who cares to sleep) I would have liked ice or a fridge but the fridge was locked so I asked for ice and they came within 10 minutes. Luggage away- time to play! The day was full of dancing by the pool, then an excellent dinner at Tequila which is a specialty restaurant that serves Mexican food. The fajitas are amazing and the best I ever had. They also make an excellent premium margarita. After dinner, we went to Karaoke (my personal favorite activity) but you can also catch a show, gamble, etc. Then we had two venues to choose from for dancing the night away.. toga party in Bliss lounge and a phenominal DJ in Spinnaker lounge where we danced until 2am! Embarkation, breakfast buffet again, completely over crowded and then people waiting in lines to exit the ship. We relaxed and waited a bit then used our VIP gold status to go to the head of the line. Cruise with NCL for a while and you can become gold too. It was an awesome evening and I can't wait to do it again! Want to join me? www.facebook.com/livealil

its a ship, not a boat ya stoop by Eddie

Ship: Azamara Journey / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

the problem with the ocean is that everything in it wants to eat you, so if the boat sinks and you don't drown you get gobbled up by fishies

Overcrowded, bad food, never again! by Vd26977436

Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

The ship was not luxurious at all. The cruise director, Josh, was just interested in taking money from the guests. The bingo game costs me $20. He called TEN numbers and someone won. That was it. There had to be 100 people in the room, and it lasted a total of 3 minutes. The dancing on the lido deck was fun, but they only had that going for the first night. That was super fun and a definite highlight. The comedian was HORRIBLE and we walked out mid-show. The food was even worse than the entertainment. I felt like we were in a cattle call. Every meal, we had to wait 45 minutes in a line. There were people coughing, little kids serving themselves and sticking their hands in the food touching everything. I was so grossed out. The eggs in the morning were powdered and tasted HORRENDOUS. WE only ate breakfast for one meal and skipped the other-it wasnt worth it. YUK. The food was ok. Nothing special. I could have eaten hamburgers, hotdogs, and pizza at home. They didnt have any decorations, the cups for the free lemonade, water, or ice tea were always gone, and the wait staff was rude. The casino was FULL OF SMOKE. IF you want to sit in the lounge to listen to music, you would come out of there smelling like smoke. These people chain smoked while they lost tons of money in the casino. They dont let you cash out money-it goes onto your room card. The people walk around and asked us if we wanted a drink literally every 4 minutes! By the time 1 hour passed, I just ignored them. I felt like this was a second class cruise. The best part was people watching-there were some drunk folks on there that were hysterical. I will NEVER go on a carnival cruise again. Save your money and pay a bit more for a cruise with better entertainment, better food, and less peddling of photos/drinks/future cruises.

Nice and Relaxing Cruise. by MirnaM1

Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

The carnival miracle cruise was a 3 day experience which was very cozy & just fun. The staff are just so dedicated & kind, made us feel very comfortable and appreciative to their hospitality. This was a great start to get us to try a longer cruise to somewhere. LOL! The ambience of the cruise was inviting and so very clean.

ship of fools by AT516

Ship: Norwegian Dawn / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

On Friday February 11 we boarded the Dawn. Our first stop should have been Samona however on Saturday we were informed that one engine was down and because we had to move slowly to be safe we could not stop. Our next two stops were Antigua and Tortola. The Engine was repaired only it was down again so our last two destinations were changed from Barbados and St. Kitts to St Thomas and St Martin, so disappointing. Each stateroom was given 200.00 on board credit, which amounts to 37.50 out of pocket for NCL. This is a 10 year old cruise ship that (little did we know then) had recurring engine problems. On the last day at sea we all received letters saying the Captain had announced the problem before we left the Miami seaport and had given everyone the option of disembarking. That was an out and out lie, a disgusting attempt to cover their butts. We did enter a dispute with AmEx. The morale was horrid as you can understand.

Pretty Bad Criuse by GeorgeS8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Gem / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

The room was tiny. The hall smelled like raw sewerage, when a crew member was asked about the smell he said "It always smells like this". No room service, didn't freshen up the cabin, had to call and ask for additional towels, no turn down service, sporadic TV channel. Bowling ally was closed "Private Party" . Had to pick up items purchased at the shops the morning of departure from the shop. Waited on line fro 40 minutes. Annoying staff saying "Washie, Washie" always wanting to spray hand sanitizer every time you walked near a food area.

1st and best cruise by CaptainCook01

Ship: Oasis of the Seas / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

Well I started on this cruiseship which I think now is totally cheating because this ship is like NO OTHER,well except the Allure it's sister ship. Its two ships combined into one and right when you walk on to the ship your mouth is to the ground. They have a rising tide bar that lowers and rises ,it's more novelty but insane.Every level you get off is like another cruise. The Pool deck to this day is still the biggest pool deck I've ever been on,Huge jacuzzis that hang over the side of the ship.Nightly entertainment was as good as NYC shows. They have a Central Park cafe that I ate lunch almost every day.Royal has the nice class to its ship and things that are free don't come off cheap.I compare Royal Caribbean to a Nice Marriott or Hilton.Food at night was very good and menu changes every night.Service was great.Cant find a thing to complain about ,getting off and on takes a lil bit and elevator rides are longer waits but overall would do it again   .Oasis is the real deal!!

A Nice Surprise! by CarlaR85065964

Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

This was our first sailing on a Conquest Class ship. After a disappointing trip on the Triumph last year, we weren't expecting the pleasant surprise we received when we boarded the Glory. The ship is beautiful and in great shape! A recent refurbishment which included new carpeting and the addition of the Serenity area to the top decks really helped to enhance the ship. Everywhere we went, the staff was outwardly friendly and eager to help. We especially enjoyed the variety of the food in the Red Sail (Lido Deck) restaurant. The seafood specialties in the Fish & Chips restaurant were delicious. The musical entertainment in the lounges was some of the best we've experienced on any cruise. Our favorite spot was the adults-only Serenity area which is located on the bow area of the ship. Its a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the scenery. I hope this addition is in the plans for the other Conquest class ships.

A beautiful ship by RhodaM

Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

We were impressed with this ship, it is beautiful, especially if you appreciate art. Each floor is a different color, artwork is everywhere. Everything sparkles and shines. The atrium is breathtaking, don't miss it. The Lido deck has something going on all of the time. The staff makes sure you are well taken care of, you feel like a VIP even if you're not one. This was our first cruise with Carnival and we were extremely satisfied with everything. We have beautiful pictures, plenty of gifts for everyone back home and wonderful memories.

A Great Cruise to Nowhere! by EricR4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

This was my first time on the Carnival Miracle. My partner's family was coming from Brazil and we thought this would be a wonderful add-on to their trip, and boy, was it ever! The ship was beautiful, the food great, the shows professional, and the opportunity to take a short break from work was perfect. Highly recommended!

Two times going on Three! by GaleB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

My husband and I first went on this cruise in 2008.....great time. We booked a balcony but really did not need it since it was too cold in October to enjoy it. In 2009, I book two inside rooms for myself and 3 girlfriends. Again, we had a fantastic time. From boarding.....no lines to getting to our cabins which were next to each other. It was a good time to take in the shows and the various activities going on. I had a great time buying alcohol for the holiday and jewelry. I would recommend this cruise for anyone that has not experienced cruisin before. I am looking to book a 2010 cruise for my husband and I. The time of year is a good time for a trip. Don't think about it just "do it"!

Very nice cruise by JuneM

Ship: Ryndam / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

Ship was just out of dry dock so most everything was re-done. We had Aqua Stateroom and the bathroom was very nice as that was one of the areas re-done. The Casino was small and had a lot of problems but eventually corrected. If you are a non-smoker this is a place you do not want to go. The Lido Deck buffet has made changes, one of which no trays to carry plates and now there is no buffet line to get food as they now have stations along the way.

Liberty of the Seas is a Great Ship by Lll77510022

Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

Overall impression is very good. I like four and five star facilities, so I am picky. The ship looked new, clean and impressive. We had a balcony, and I highly recommend paying for it..it gives extra space and adds to the experience. We had two children with us, the coach was turned into a double bed each evening and was quite comfortable. I beleive we paid a bit extra for an extra 20 square feet and the assurance of a pull out. The room was very comforatble and there was plenty of space for our clothes (we had five suitcases)!.

DO NOT GET ON THIS SHIP by ShelleyA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Destiny (RETIRED) 28 / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

I just got off the boat this morning. We booked and paid for a cruise to Ocho Rios Jamaica and Grand Cayman. On Sunday night, they cancelled our stop in Jamaica. The ship is again having engine problems. They told us they'd run some test and then they told us that that Grand Cayman wasn't going to happen. The ship turned around and went to Nassau, Bahamas. We left about 3 hours late out of Miami, and I believe everyone that works for Carnival knew we would not be making our scheduled stops, but never once told a passenger until they had to. They gave us each $75 as compensation. The staff was friendly and the food was terrific...but I felt lied to by the captain and crew. If I wanted to go to Nassau I would have spent 250 on a cruise instead of 600. I want my money!!!!
