We stayed some extra days and enjoyed it immensely. Take time to stroll the beach and enjoy a frozen treat at Rita's. Try the Cajun Greek. We loved it!

The city has a bad odor. Also, if you buy alcohol or tobacco on the ship or while in port, Texas charges you a tax on each item. This isn't the case with other states.

UGH! IT'S GALVESTON WITH MURKY WATERS. THE STORES ON THE STRAND SHOULD OPEN EARLIER THAN THEY DO. I WANTED TO GO SHOPPING BEFORE WE BOARDED AT 11 AND NONE OF THEM WERE OPEN OR WERE JUST OPENING..... DISAPPOINTED IN THE STRAND

If your flying into Houston it is much cheaper to rent a car that to take a shuttle. Then you can do what you want and take your time.

What to be expected of a port, busy. Employees where nice and helpful when asked. Traffic flow needs work on. Needed a taxi, to get to hotel. It took abt 45 mins until.
