Review summary

I am a 46 year-old woman who traveled with three 20-somethings. They relied on me to attend all the required/boring stuff; they partied. Everyone had a really good time. The cruise was great. My only complaint was . I have been on Carnival cruises before and was offered a free room upgrade. I wanted to stay near the other room, though, so I declined. Instead, I took the $25 per cabin on-board credit. Well, neither cabin received it. So, boo to .

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Dining room was great. Room service (breakfast) ignored our rooms a couple of times. We were all the way at the front of the ship.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had a wonderful cabin steward, Johnson. He was very attentive and helpful. He really helped us when our in-room breakfast was ignored (twice) by room service/food folks.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Although this is the lowest of the interior rooms for price, this cabin was great. If you aren't interested in pushing the twin beds together, this is the room for you! It has a lot of room; not at all cramped.

Ship tip

Not traveling with kids? Stay on the serenity decks. Wonderful!!!!

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

1 out of 5
The city has a bad odor. Also, if you buy alcohol or tobacco on the ship or while in port, Texas charges you a tax on each item. This isn't the case with other states.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We shopped at the port, then took a taxi to a beach. There are no free public beaches, so we went to a bar with a beach. We each bought one drink and enjoyed the beach. Way cheaper than a tour for each of us. (Taxi $17 each way; drinks $7 each).

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

3 out of 5
Since we don't care for organized tours at our ports, there wasn't much to do here. They have a few shops right at the port, nothing else to do.
