There was nothing here to see. Most shops were closed on Sunday. I thought it was a waste of time. It was nice that the city provided a free shuttle.

Very pleasantly surprised at how hard this small town is working to bring in tourists. Many volunteers around town to direct visitors to the sites. A free shuttle to transport you up the hill. Nice boutiques, shops, food. Immaculately clean city with beautiful view of the port.

Nanaimo was gorgeous! We went on an excursion to the Cathedral Groves and Coombs Market. The grove was beautiful and the air was so fresh and clear. The market was adorable and everyone was so kind to us. They have little shops in downtown Nanaimo that are so cure and fun. It was a great port to see and I would love to visit it again.

The train trip from Port Alberney is fun, but there's an hour plus bus ride to get to the train. The tour volunteers were knowledgeable and friendly and the staff at the saw mill provided a delightful lunch.

Make sure you do free bus trip around city and make sure you spend time on waterfront and if you get the chance fire the cannon!
