It was too late to schedule or find out what is available in port when excursions unavailable. We could only walk around for a short time. Very disappointing that we could not get out to the country for a wine tour in the area.

Blackbutt Sanctuary - great trails and small zoo including all Australian mammals. Accessible by local bus and free.

Nice city to visit.... new broadwalk along the foreshore ,new developments going on ..... cafe's - restaurants & a day trip up to the vineyards at the Hunter Valley or Nelson Bay.. if you like... Going to build a cruise Terminal in the future....

There is no dock so you have to take a tender to this port. It takes about 35 minutes each way.
