Love the Solstice and Celebrity. This cruise was mainly for relaxing as it was in our "backyard" as such. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time and would put it up there in our top three cruises.... not just the sights but a lot to do with the company!
Embarkation

Quick getting through the paperwork part but held up by security.

Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Sailed on Solstice almost a year before and found that the venues had cut a few corners like smaller dishes etc. But the food was still excellent. Was not impressed with Le Petit Chef though at Silk Harvest. We were assigned here on our first night as we had a dining package and we finished at almost 10pm as you had to wait for everyone to finish to start the next course. We found the food nice but would have preferred the old Silk Harvest. Mast Grill BBQ special events were excellent... great sitting outside at night having your dinner instead of down below in the ship. Lobster was excellent and you could have as much as you liked! Loved it so we went back again with friends. Service was a bit Fawlty Towers but still enjoyed it.
Onboard Activities

Trivia was excellent - glad they changed to the Sky Lounge as far as venue as the Ensemble Bar is just not big enough!
Entertainment
Only saw one show so cannot really judge.
Children's Programs
No children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Last year, we found the staff tired and a bit haphazard. This year they seemed back on track.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Even though the ship needs a refurb, we still love it and after cruising with Princess this year in a 12 month refurbished ship, we were glad to be back with Celebrity.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Aft cabin right at the back of the ship. Love watching the wake and love these cabins. Stateroom attendant, Michael, was excellent. Room was always clean.
Ship tip
Try the BBQ dinner at Mast Grill if it is offered on your cruise - excellent!
You mentioned that the BBQ dinner is offered on the ship. Is it a specialty dinner offer once you board or should we buy the package before the cruise?
