Nice city to visit.... new broadwalk along the foreshore ,new developments going on ..... cafe's - restaurants & a day trip up to the vineyards at the Hunter Valley or Nelson Bay.. if you like... Going to build a cruise Terminal in the future....

Was very surprised at how nice Newcastle was. Beach is close to the CBD. Went to Fort Scratchley and Christ Church Cathedral. Can be a bit chilly if you are exploring on foot.

Blackbutt Sanctuary - great trails and small zoo including all Australian mammals. Accessible by local bus and free.
