Costa Rica is a beautiful country. We went on another tour through Viator, including a visit to a monkey reserve, a river cruise to see crocodiles and many different varieties of exotic birds, as well as a drive up to a mountain rain forest. The town of Puntarenas is a sad story. It is a fishing village that managed to drive itself to ruin by over-fishing the fish population, catching females and juveniles. Now, fishing is prohibited in the area, and businesses are closed the boats are abandoned.

This was one of our favorite ports. Although we had been there before, this time we did an NCL tour to the rain forest. It was 8 hours but wonderful scenery and an amazing hike I the rain forest (the only place it rained the entire trip).

Again, not much to the town but our excursion there was excellent. It included a ride on a historic narrow-guage railroad and a flatboat tour of a river full of tropical birds and crocodiles.

The drive was beautiful; the aerial tram experience relaxing and beautiful; the sloth sanctuary was informative (and the sloths were adorable). Well worth the money in my book.
