Town is crummy and not much to do unless you are into athletics such as boating, biking, etc.

We booked a tour to the banana palntation and a trip down a canal that we could have done without. The butterfly exhibit was good but I wouldn't say it was a necessity.

Took a beach tour, more bus ride than beach...1.5 hr to Beach.....1.5 hr only on the beach...half hour to shop next to the beach (different stop) another 1.5 hr back to port.

We went kayaking, which was nice and relaxing. No shopping at this port, so do it where ever your excursion is.

We decided not to choose an excursion through the cruise line. It was actually cheaper to wait until we were at the port. There are plenty of taxis offering different activities and a much lower cost. Safe too!!!

Did the rain forest. Only problems was it wat 2 hour ride to and from with only 2 hours of rain forest.

We did the Zipline excursion. Never ziplined before. Too much fun. The people there were very professional and safety was the most important thing. They took pictures and videos you could purchase at the end. Once again town was pretty rough. Oh did I mention "Gift Shops"

We went on an Eco Pontoon cruise and it was very enjoyable. The guides were so enthusiastic and very fun. The market that was set up on the pier was the only place I would shop, the people outside the market weren't very friendly.

This port was diverted because of civil unrest in the country. We did not get off the ship at the alternate stop in Mexico. We were not planning on getting off in Costa Rica either because of the unrest in that country.
