Took tender to the port and found our excursion Belize Cave Tubing. Took a van to the crystal caves about 1 hour away. Changed clothes and hiked 45 minutes to the cave opening. Had a few seniors that were not able to hike and the guides found shortcuts for them so they could enjoy the river. The tubing experience was relaxing although not all that exciting. Scenery was beautiful and unique. We didn’t eat lunch as we have sensitive tummies. It was a long day - longer than expected. We were hungry and tired by the time we made it back to the port area. We shoppe and quickly grabbed. tender back to the ship.

Cruise director said area was not very safe. That’s a shame. Would have done more. Did river cruise only to fill up time ashore since cruise director said not much to do there and being unsafe. Again water taxi not ideal.

My favorite port by far. We did the cave tubing and zip-lining excursion. It was beautiful. I’ve heard the expression “so beautiful it takes your breath away” but I didn’t really think that was a thing until we got to the mouth of the cave/river entrance. My mother literally lost her breath from the beauty!

This was my second visit to Belize, Second disappointing excursion. People were great. Last time 2 hour bus ride to the the Mayan Ruins. AC broke on the Bus....NOT GOOD. This time Natural Jungle expedition...eh. Not exciting. Did I say the people were great...They were. Very nice. But overall eh.

Shops were ok, quite overpriced. Dear God take an excursion and don't try to walk the downtown historical area. We were harassed by beggars and homeless from the moment we walked out. We were so interested in seeing the forts and historical buildings and just about ran back fearing we were about to be robbed.

make sure if you book an excursion with someone other then the cruise line to leave yourself plenty of time since you need to take a tender.

We did the Altun Ha Mayan ruins tour with a city drive and river cruise. This tour was awesome. Highly recommend.
