Belize is a very poor area, but we did the Lamanai excursion which was amazing. Bring plenty of water and wear your walking shoes.

This is an excellent port but I would recommend an excursion through your cruise ship. The people are charming and friendly but I would not venture into Belize City on your own without a local guide or taxi driver. My cave tubing tour was breaktaking, however, and I imagine the other tours are breathtaking. People were bragging about how great their excursions were despite the annoyingly long tender rides.

Port was nice and full of shops. Excursion took one hour bus ride, then 30 minute walk to cave tubing. Tubing was cool.

We had the excursion for Bacab EcoPark and horse back riding. We took the tender to the port and then 40 minute bus ride to Bacab. Belize is a very poor country but the people are very friendly. The horse back riding was enjoyed by the whole family. Lunch was provided and it was an authentic rice and beans with stewed chicken and plantains, it was good and if your not as adventurous you can order a hamburger and chicken tenders. The pool was also huge and nice.

Wasn’t really impressed with this port. There isn’t much to do if you don’t book an excursion the port itself doesn’t have much. We looked around and bought a few magnets and then found a place with frozen drinks before rendering back to the boat. (To add this was the worst tender ever. Takes a while)

The winds were too strong so they had to cancel this port. But they have to boat us in from 7 miles away so that’s why.

Snorkeling the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world was incredible!! And Elvis was alive at Starfish Island!!

Did not care too much for the port. We went to the zoo in a hot bus. However our guide was so funny and made us laugh the whole way. The zoo was not really a zoo but I got great pictures of the kids with snakes 😁

Do a snorkel excursion or beach excursion if possible and go to Caulker Cay if you can.
