Review summary

It was fun, but next time I will take a shorter cruise with less ports. I was really exhausted from the go, go, go at each port, which was totally my choice not Carnival related.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Buffet was closed on excursion day except one, which created extremely long line for the one grill buffet. More should be open late on excursion days. Deli buffet line was extremely slow service every day. Mixed drinks were watered down with mix, need more alcohol. Waiter staff did not bring water ordered on several different occasions in comedy room. Salads served in dining room wilted each night and very little lettuce, just toppings. Water bottles smelled like mildew probably from the containers they are stored in prior to giving to patrons.

Onboard Activities

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Agus took care of four of our staterooms (eight ppl). He was fantastic and very attentive, caring.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Layout fine. However, on last sea day, smoke/ash dropped through the air constantly on Serenity Deck - all over clothes, suits, bags, railings, towels, chairs, shoes, decking, etc.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Comfort, size and cabin area comfortable and clean. However, shower smelled of mildew and shower curtain very dingy and discolored. Towels were stained and yellowish. Shelving of some sort is needed in shower as well to hold guest shampoos, razors, face wash, etc.

Ship tip

Ensure the ship is not too old and not close to decomissioning.

This was not an excursion port, but a departure port.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Beautiful water, no excursion, beach time.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Amazing, beautiful. No excursion. We took a shuttle with a tour guide to West Bay, Henry Morgan Resort, plus snorkeling. It was a very nice resort with many things to do and eat. Very safe with security.

Belize City, Belize

Port was nice and full of shops. Excursion took one hour bus ride, then 30 minute walk to cave tubing. Tubing was cool.

Cozumel, Mexico

Awesome port, lots to do even if no excursion. We did the Fury excursion and it was fantastic. So much fun, boating, snorkeling, playing on inflatables at the island.

Disembarkation

We had an escort off this ship prior to everyone else due to daughter's illness on the ship. We were personally escorted off the ship at 8am and through customs, in our car by 830am.

We actually stayed on the ship while in the Belize port. We've been there many times anx hate the fact it takes 30 minutes to get to port on a tender. We just walked around the ship watch the crew do practice drills and had the Serenity area practically to ourselves.

There is no requirement to get off the ship or do anything at the ports. Some never leave the ship and have a great time. We love exploring the ports and try to sail itineraries with a minimum number of sea days, but many love the sea days.
