Gorgeous clear water. We did snorkeling with sharks and rays in Shark and Ray Alley and enjoyed lunch on an island. Very pleasant people and cheap souvenirs.

Did an excursion to the Mayan Ruins booked through Norwegian and it was very good. The port seemed to offer very little of you didn’t do an excursion.

I have been to both the Mayan ruins at Xunantunch & Altun Ha. Xunantunch does involve a lot more walking than Altun Ha, The Altun Ha & River Wallace boat tour is really nice. Once the tour boat gets going, you do get a bit of relief from the heat. Belize is definitely very hot & humid in May.

Small area near port, some market stalls. Most excursions seemed to be almost identical, as if there is little to do or see. We did a private taxi tour of the city.

I've heard from others that parts of the city was riddled with bullet holes. Didn't plan on getting off the ship anyway since I came down with a slight cold.....

Hol Chen Marine reserve is worth the trip. Very good snorkeling! Boat ride out was also very interesting.

we went cave tubing which was fun and interesting. again booked on our own in port and it was much cheaper. also locals ran and owned the company. we were ahead of the carnival excursion so we had a less crowded experience.
