Mazatlan is a really cool place, not yet over comercialized, the port was right beside the port for cargo ships and rail ways, was a short trip to the beaches, the views from the ship were amazing! Really nice people. Shopping beach and lunch excursion was very nice, and relaxing. We were able to watch a great show, have the freedom to shop or swim for the rest of the day from the comfort of a resort beach and bar.

Did not like Mazatlan. We chose the hop on hop off bus to get around town. There were safety concerns. It is obviously a very poor area of Mexico. Beach reminds me of Galveston as opposed to the Caribbean.

Fun at the beach, but not much to do. There are stingray warnings, which were intimidating. We also tried to kayak in the ocean, but the swells didn't make it very fun. The tractor rides were interesting though

Though this had the best sounding excursion: salsa and salsa, we were only there from 7 - 2. Learning to make salsa, drinking margaritas and learning to dance the salsa in the morning was not appealing. There was a local shopping area very near the pier that the tram took us to. Lots of booths with souvenirs.
