Review summary

This cruise was a gift to myself for my 50th Birthday. I had a good time on board the fun club did a great job. my dining room experience was not good we were given a 8pm time and were always the last table to be served every night oven getting done with dessert at or after 10pm. Often missing the on board shows unless we skipped dessert or ate some where else. I was told by my booking agent that my room would be made up for my birthday and nothing was done except for a discount for a photo and money off a spa. I was very disappointed.

our wait staff for the most part was slow. our room stewards over looked a moldy bar of soap that sat in our bathroom next to our sink for three days until we said something.

ship was clean but needed to be worked on broken window in one of the ships buffets eating area. Ceiling 0n deck 5 by stores worn and in need of repair.

our Balcony rail was in bad shape in need of refinishing. overall the inside was ok, outdated the king bed was two small beds pushed together that kept separating every night and didn't get addressed when asked.

I was the Splendor in July for my 42nd anniversary and didn't have any of the problems you had. Now far as the restaurant is concerned, we had early dining and at times it was slower than usual. Mainly doing the two nights of formal dining, I have never had bars of soap in my cabin. Even in the Balcony cabins, it's always been liquid soap in containers on the shower walls. We also had king beds on all our cruises and not once did we have any problems of them coming apart. Plus your profile shows no cruises, so just remember when booking a cruise research the ship, the time frame you booking. Also on the Carnival website it has a place where you can ask for your room to be decorated for a price of $45. I had that for our cruise along with a cake.

Great remarks Summerholiday. I've had many of the same issues fhasen... states so I'm sure he's accurate. But I still had a great time. I don't think I've ever had to complain to the boss but I would if talking to the person did not help. Things don't bother me as much though. I would just throw away a moldy bar if soap rather than stew over it for three days. I prefer the steward didn't decorate my cabin for my birthday. I remember how long it takes to eat dinner and eat at the buffet or Anytime dining room if I will miss a show I want to see. It takes a little work to have a good time but not much really.

Never take anyone's word for any requests it needs to be in writing from them and I doubt they would do that ...the only times rooms are ready for when you board is Diamond, Platinum, and FTF so don't know why he would tell us that except to big note himself travel agents will tell you anything for a sale ... you needed to contact carnival help line as they will email the ship you are on to see if the early check in is possible and they will email you back to ensure it's possible? Also the beds in the room on most ships are the same pushed to together of single been on 25 cruise never had the issue of the beds parting it strange as the bed has a fitted sheet on and doesn't normally move ? Also if you contacted your Stewart and nothing was done then you ring and ask to talk to the team leader as each section on each level has one and let them know what the issue is it would of been fixed up straight away ... you don't need to put up with any issues that you have you have you just need to make a complaint to the right person .... Also dinner where you on time for dinner ? As we normally have the same time dinner each night and always have more than enough time to get seats for the show or have a drink and go to the next one ? Any issues with your cabin call customer service and they will call the appropriate people or in the Main dining room if any issues and your not happy just talk with the Matrde it's your vacation why put up with what can be fixed 🤷🏼‍♀️ Hope you received a little cake and the waiters normally sing to you if they are aware it's your birthday...
