Took the “topless bus tour”. Saw a cliff diver which was cool. One of the stops had beach access, so I got to get my feet wet and walk along the beach.

We normally don’t do this but we took an excursion from someone standing outside the gates. $30.00 a person gave us a catamaran ride out past the caves, we saw jelly fish, whales and sea lions. Then it took us to Stone island which lunch and all you could drink plus our choice of 2 activities were also included. We chose the banana boat & horse and buggy ride. The guide made sure we all were on our way back to the ship by 2:30. Plenty of time to still check out the market outside the port. Was a great day!

This port seemed boring and potentially unsafe; one in our party ventured ashore and found designated walking routes for tourists and armed police at every intersection.

There is not much to do in this city. We went to the cathedral and it was very pretty. The market there was cool to see and you can get some nice souvenirs. If you are going to take cabs/taxis bring small bills because the drivers will NOT make change. We walked to the ocean where the cliff divers are. There are so many people selling stuff in this area. The walk seemed safe but you can take a cab. The walk was about 15 minutes (6 blocks). The ocean is beautiful and it seems to be a little bit safer near the coast. We took cabs from the ocean back to the boat. I could have skipped this port - wish we would have stopped somewhere else.

My favorite port! Plaza Machado is beautiful as well as the area surrounding it.

The best stop of all. Quite unexpected. Old, modern, clean, well organised. A place to revisit.
