Royal Princess

7 Night Mexican Riviera (Los Angeles Roundtrip)

Sail date: January 25, 2020

Ship: Royal Princess

Traveled as: Large Group

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Review summary

Weather was cool the first sea day out but got better. The Royal is a gorgeous ship. Tip: if you like your specialty coffees, you can find them at the pastry shop in the middle of the buffet. Nice time saver instead of going down to the international cafe then going back to the lido deck.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
As always Princess out does its self, although maybe it’s just me but the buffet seemed almost too large?

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Very much enjoyed the pools. The poolside contests were awesome eg: men’s sexy legs contest 😂

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Great entertainment. I did wish that more would have been held in a larger venue other than Princess Live, for more seating, but overall the game shows were very entertaining.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Amazing staff every where. Can’t complain.

Ship Quality

Beautiful ship overall.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our steward Muhammad was wonderful. Even made our daughter a towel bear. It was so cute.

Ports of call

Mazatlan, Mexico

We normally don’t do this but we took an excursion from someone standing outside the gates. $30.00 a person gave us a catamaran ride out past the caves, we saw jelly fish, whales and sea lions. Then it took us to Stone island which lunch and all you could drink plus our choice of 2 activities were also included. We chose the banana boat & horse and buggy ride. The guide made sure we all were on our way back to the ship by 2:30. Plenty of time to still check out the market outside the port. Was a great day!

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Very enjoyable. Walked the Malecon, drank some margaritas...gorgeous day for sightseeing.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Our day was cut short. Had to be back on the ship by noon. I still rated Cabo a 5 because it’s not their fault :)

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California
