Finally not a shipyard port but you have to tender to the island so it's not easy to get there and back. Rented a private boat the go snorkeling and see dolphins and whales. It was a great time, very enjoyable. The area around the port is nice with many shops and restaurants. We were told the last tender would leave at 5pm so we arrived at 4:20pm and got thru rude security by 4:30pm. 2 tender boats were there but they made us stand in the sun for 30 minutes while the NCL personal loaded up the first one then we got on the second and left at 5pm.

We took a tour of the Waimea Valley, River Ride, and Fern Grotto. Also included a lovely lunch. Great tour with a few extra site seeing stops. Recommend highly.

River cruise and fern grotto excursion was very nice. The tour company was excellent but good entertainment. Don't book through the cruise line. Cruise line excursions were overpriced. Got exact same excursion when booked directly through Grayline tours.

A clear highlight of the tour. Poipu beach is a nice area, Princeville is worth a look, but the highlight is without a doubt the Na Pali coastline. Two recommended options to see this properly - take a helicopter tour (Blue Hawaiian were great) or hike the Kalalau Trail from Ke'e Beach. The hike is only two miles into the first beach and it was the best part of our 12 days in Hawaii.

We golfed one day and it was beautiful. I needed a sweater in the beginning because we were golfing in a higher elevation. But the views were fabulous. The last day we took a helicopter ride over the island and it was expensive but since most of the island is not able to be seen by car it was worth the money. And you can purchase a DVD recording you getting on the helicopter and previously recorded views from the helicopter on a nice day.
