We went to Kalapaki Beach but the marriott hotel. then walked around to the shops got a shaved ice the size of my head. the beach is a goods 12 to 25 mins walk based on your speed of walking.

A bit of a let down. We took the shuttle to the shopping mall. After lunch on the ship we walked to the local beach. It's OK but the water is not very inviting. All the other beaches we saw the water was crystal clear but not this. There are a few shops and hotels nearby.

This was a beautiful island. Very lush. We took the Wailua River Cruise and Fern Grotto excursion. Excellent live music and dancing on the riverboat to the Fern Grotto. The grotto was absolutely magical, although you cannot get into the grotto any longer since the last hurricane did damage. The Hawaiian Wedding Song was performed on the deck in front of the grotto. Our guide Leoni was fantastic, very funny and extremely knowledgable. He added a couple of extra stops in to our tour, Ahukini Landing and 'Opaeka'a Falls.

Always love this port - being able to walk to lovely beach for pictures and also little shopping area within a very short walk.

The tour and luau was great. The view of the canyon was beautiful. The food at the luau was GREAT and so was the entertainment. The transfer back to the ship was very poor.

Kauai is everyone's favorite! We rented a car under $40 and drove to Waimea Canyon on our own. Stopped at Grandma's Restaurant along the way. Best Sushi rolls on the whole trip! Came down the back side of the mountain and found a huge beautiful beach all to ourselves. I wish we could of had more time in Kauai.

Kauai was spectacular! The views were incredible. I wish we could have stayed longer. We attended the luau which they ran very well. It was crowded but well worth it.
