Review summary

Very enjoyable cruise for relaxation and refreshing the soul!

Embarkation

I know, I know, the diamond guests get to board before us lowly gold and red folks, but really, those chairs they make us wait in and then plague us with people trying to get us to do a survey! Makes for not awesome first look at upcoming cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Wonderful choices each and every day. Especially loved the sea day brunch menu.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The Legend does not have much outdoor physical activities ... really, those golf balls that sail away in the wind, crazy. But the crew keeps everyone busy with wonderful trivia, arts and craft opportunities, and various games.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The stage shows were really pretty good. I especially loved listening to the Emerald Trio - they were amazing.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had the best room steward... loved that each and every one of them greet you as you are meandering the hallways. Even with the tiresome jobs they do, they are smiling.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Everything was pretty much clean. It's just an older ship and if you are choosing to go on a cruise for the "glamor" the Legend is no longer the ship to choose.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was always clean thanks to our room steward. I loved all the storage space for clothes - the cabin surely fit our needs - it was a bit worn and dated, but it was comfortable.

Ship tip

One piece of advice I would recommend and I am noting it for all our future cruises - check the cabin to see if there is a connecting door to the next cabin! This was so weird being able to hear them and thus knowing they could hear us! Very awkward !!!

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

Hilo, Hawaii

We like to walk - so walking into town was not over-tiring for us. But the road was under construction where we walked and this was a bit challenging.

Kahului, Maui

3 out of 5
Pretty much need to book an excursion to see anything of interest here at this port.

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

5 out of 5
I always love the tender ports! We don't have to look at ports with views of parking lots :) We also did one of my best excursions to date here! The "Sense-Sational Kona" was wonderful - learned so much! Thoroughly enjoyed this and would recommend.

Nawiliwili, Kauai

5 out of 5
Always love this port - being able to walk to lovely beach for pictures and also little shopping area within a very short walk.

Honolulu, Oahu

3 out of 5
It's just a big ol town - if you have been to Pearl Harbor - you've seen the best. (Just my opinion) We got off and walked - just to be on land - you need to check your day of the week before you plan where you might walk to (we walked to the Iolani Palace and it was closed - my bad planning)

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

1 out of 5
ugly port - nice folks tho - not at all a good part of town

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
When you are able to carry all your own baggage off the ship - disembarkation is a breeze! Love this option!
