Review summary

The cruise was wonderful. We would like to do this one again. It was a convenient way to see as many islands as possible within a week. Norwegian really handled everything for us making the trip easy and stress free!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Norwegian does a great job getting people on board quickly and efficiently. I have never had to wait in a long line. The process is smooth and easy! Plus, they give you a lei on this particular embarkation which makes it even better.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food is good and they have a good variety. It is not the best food I have ever had, but it was good.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I only used the hot tubs and they were nice. They had plenty of them, so they did not get overly crowded which was nice.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We do not cruise for the entertainment; we cruise for the ports and excursions. We enjoyed the cultural entertainment provided on this cruise in particular with the hula dancing and the Hawaiian music. We did not attend the other shows as they do not interest us.

Children's Programs

We do not have children.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
For the most part, the service was good. We were waited on promptly and our room was cleaned every day.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This is an older ship, so there was some wear and tear. However, I really liked the variety of dining options and the overall layout of the ship. I thought it offered more than other cruises I have previously been on.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was great! It was clean and felt a bit more spacious than other cabins I have stayed in. I thought it suited our needs very well.

Ship tip

Be sure to grab a good spot on the ship when sailing past the lava flow and Na Poli Coast. There are plenty of spots, but it does get crowded so get there a little early! These are worth seeing!!

Ports of call

Honolulu, Oahu

5 out of 5
We did not do an excursion through the cruise in Honolulu. We walked from our hotel, that Norwegian kindly set up for us, to Diamond Head Crater and a local Farmer's Market. It was quite the hike, but well worth it! You get a lovey view of Honolulu from the top of the crater.

Kahului, Maui

5 out of 5
Maui was great, though we did not get to do everything we wanted to do. We did snorkel at Molokini Crater and Turtle Town which was awesome! We also took an excursion to the top of Haleakala Crater. he port area itself was rather industrial and not the nicest spot, but the excursions were great!

Hilo, Hawaii

5 out of 5
I loved Hilo! We took a lava expedition to the lava entry into the ocean. We also took a cab to the nearest black sand beach which was very cool!

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

5 out of 5
One of my favorite ports. There was so much to do right off the boat. We took an excursion through a cloud forest and then went to Kona brewing company which was a quick walk from port.

Nawiliwili, Kauai

5 out of 5
Kauai was spectacular! The views were incredible. I wish we could have stayed longer. We attended the luau which they ran very well. It was crowded but well worth it.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was easy and quick. They really have this organized well.
