Called Hertz before we got there, and got a car with ease. Drove the entire West of Maui stopping at the Iao Valley, which was beautiful and visited the town of Lahaina. EXCELLENT shopping here and beautiful public beaches along the way. Kept the car overnight and parked near the ship. Went to the Old Lahaina Luau and was thorougly impressed with the site, the entertainment, and the variety of food-although some was a little odd. Second day, we drove through the middle of Maui for beautiful scenery and traveled the back way to Hana for about 1 1/2 hours and then turned around, as to continue on that road would take several more hours.

Chose a snorkeling tour the first day there and really enjoyed it...saw a lot of fish and had good food on board. The second day we took the tour Road to Hana we did not like the guide as he did not speak up loud enough to hear him and he went off the subject talking about too many personal subjects. We took the premium tour and wished we had not spent the extra $ on it.Gave it a 5 star as the general experience out weighed the poor guide.

I was a little disappointed with Maui- but that may be because the weather wasn't great. Also- book your rental vehicle well in advance. We tried to rent a vehicle to drive the road to Hana which I've heard so much about, but the sales person at the rental place said they were booked for the next 3mo solid.

Maui is great. Did Best of Maui first day and Atlantis Submarine the second day. Both were excellent.

The beach excursion was excellent, short drive across island to sunny less windy side. Water inviting and plenty of food and drink choices with short walk on walkways

We rented a car and did the Trip to Hana like all the other tourists. It was our third trip since our cruise buddies had never done and you have to do it at least once.

In Maui we took uber(25.00 ea way) to Ookipa Beach aka Turtle Beach, is about 20mins from port. We saw way more turtles in Hilo at Black Sand Beach. We had a relaxing day at the beach. There is a long walk when you get off ship to where you can take cab or uber, be ready to walk, about 10mins walking. There is lots if stores right across from port: ross, grocery stores, and a mall.

Shopping near the port is a long but scenic and enjoyable walk away. Some great photo opportunities if you go off the main road towards the beach. The mall we visited was actually very nice and most importantly air conditioned as we are not used to these temperatures. The Sunrise at Haleakala would’ve been spectacular I’m sure if it wasn’t for the cloud cover. You can’t control the weather but still had a great time. (Booked the excursion through NCL). Despite the 3am wake up - the tour guide was absolutely fantastic. He had us all in stitches (well those of us who were awake) as we drove up the mountain at 4am. He was full of interesting stories about the island(s) and very hospitable to all. Had a great time despite the disappointment of the sunrise. Make sure you pack waterproofs and warm clothing if doing this (unless you are Scottish like us who chose to wear shorts as “Scots don’t fell the cold”)
