Review summary

My cruise was awesome. One of the highlights would be the Cadillac diner. A low point would be disembarkation. Very chaotic. NCL could take some pointers from CCL on how to streamline that process. The food was excellent. We had a specialty dining package and got to try 4 specialty restaurants. We tried the Brazilian steakhouse, the Italian restaurant, Cagney's steakhouse, and Teppanyaki. We enjoyed the Brazilian steakhouse, and Teppanyaki was a great experience, but as a group (there were 13 of us) we all seemed to agree that Cagney's was out favorite. Excellent. The Italian restaurant wasn't a great experience. Service was slow. Our cabin steward did a really great job, and our rooms were about what you'd expect.

We got an ocean view because there were 3 of us sharing a cabin. The size was about what I would expect. Our cabin steward was awesome, room was clean.

Ship tip

Give the Cadillac diner a try- perhaps my favorite part of the ship. The wings were 👌.

Ports of call

Kahului, Maui

I was a little disappointed with Maui- but that may be because the weather wasn't great. Also- book your rental vehicle well in advance. We tried to rent a vehicle to drive the road to Hana which I've heard so much about, but the sales person at the rental place said they were booked for the next 3mo solid.

Hilo, Hawaii

My second favorite island- and we almost didn't get to go because of the volcano. I enjoyed touring the island and seeing all the lush foliage and enchanting waterfalls.

Honolulu, Oahu

Definitely give yourself extra time in this port. We didn't have time for everything we wanted to do. Polynesian Cultural Center was great. Of course, Pearl Harbor is a must see. Climbed halfway to diamond Head before we had to turn back or risk not being back in time to catch the shuttle. A side note- be prepared to spend money on food. We had a condo/type situation and paid $21 for just 1 loaf of bread, 2 dozen eggs, and 1/2lb of butter. OUCH.

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

Perhaps my least favorite Hawaiian port. We toured some coffee places. The highlight for me was as it was getting dark, the captain turned out all the lights on the outside of the ship and got a little closer to the Kilauea volcano- as close as he was willing to risk. It was really neat.

Cruise Napali Coast, Kauai

Gorgeous! We got to see a vibrant double rainbow as we sailed along the coast.

Nawiliwili, Kauai

My favorite Port of call! Absolutely gorgeous. Did some beach time as well as a helicopter tour. Wonderful.
