All-in-all an enjoyable vacation. I recommend. We arrived two days prior to the cruise and stayed in Waikiki. Hilton Hawaiian Village is a nice part of the beach area.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Easy check-in. We boarded around 2PM. Cabin was ready around 3PM. Buffet was open.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Ate only in the "no extra cost areas". Preferred Skyline over Liberty (same food, but better service in Skyline). Compared to the other 5 cruises I've been on, food was good, but average.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Fair amount of things to do onboard, but much of our time was spent either ashore, eating or in our cabin.
Entertainment

Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Service varied. Room attendant was awesome. Food staff was OK, but not up to the usual standard. Part of the reason, in my opinion, is that the "Freestyle" format does not pair you to a regular staff, so the personal touch is lost.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Acceptable, but not spic & span
Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip
Read the daily bulletins that are published. They tell you everything you need to know about activities and ports
Not much in Downtown Hilo, but visit the awesome Botannical Gardens (if the volcano tours are cancelled). Although the volcano tour was cancelled, the ship cruised slowly past the volcanic area at night. It was an awesome sight and a trip highlight
We had a week in Honolulu before cruise. There was never a dull moment. So much to see and do. Our hotel view was Waikiki beach. To call it paradise is accurate.
