Review summary

In general, it was a great cruise for the experience. Yes, I would recommend it as the destinations are awesome. This is probably a once in a life time for many because I did not mentioned before but it is mega expensive, but worthy for sure.

Embarkation

Pretty fast and nice welcoming. The port is ugly though.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

just OK. We liked the variety of hawaiian beer. Also the drink were good. Prices are always in the sky. But I guess that's normal.

John Adam's Coffee Bar

3 out of 5

The coffee was good, the people that works there are super slow, so if you go in a hurry, forget it. I saw people living because they would take forever. Only one lady working and others just looking at her. What is that supposed to mean?

Skyline Restaurant

3 out of 5

Food is lacking quality. Oh! and if you are expecting lobster one day of the week like in other lines.... nope... did not happen.

Onboard Activities

Kind of OK compare to other cruises. They did some occasionally activities here and there. The cruise director is pretty good and she tries to keep the people entertained. But it is lacking of more I'd say. The pool was super bored. When the DJ or the little bands were not playing, the music was horrible. They should probably mixed the hawaiian music with some other islands or modern music. I don't know, it was weird.

Oasis Pool

Too small and updated. The music here super boring.

Entertainment

Hollywood Theater

Seats are old and uncomfortable. People save seats and the ones working there says nothing. That's why everyone does whatever they want. The shows are OK. My daughter loved the magician. That was a plus. But overall, they are all good.

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

They were great. Some people more attentive than others and that is normal. We noticed that in NCL the staff is a lot more relaxed than in other cruise lines. Good for them! But I saw a few situations where people were not happy :-(

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
we liked the design for being an old small cruise. It was clean and easy to get from one place to another. Never crowed except the pool, but that is normal.

Ship tip

We think it was kind of small for the price we paid. The housekeeper was awesome! she was very attentive and always reachable.

Ports of call

Honolulu, Oahu

Very commercial. The north shore was nice but were not able to get in the beach because of the high tides. The Polynesian Cultural Center is a must in this island. Also the Waikiki area is very nice to walk at any time of the day. If you like shopping, this is the island to do so ;-)

Kahului, Maui

Our favorite island. We did the Road to Hana in a rental car and also went to Lahaina the following day. Loved this small town.

Hilo, Hawaii

In Hilo, we did the Helicopter tour to see the volcano. After this, we did the hoop on-off which by the way is very basic and can be done super fast as there not that much to do or see in our opinion. And basically this is it.

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

Tender port. Very clean and small. Lots of shopping and the market should be a stop. Get some fresh fruit. They are delicious.

Nawiliwili, Kauai

The best part of this island was the second day when the ship take you to cruise thru the Napali Coast. If you can do a helicopter tour on day one or rent a car to explore on your own, you are set.
