We never got there except to look at it from afar. No real explanation for not going there. I have been twice before with other ships and never had a problem. The claim that the weather prevented it was not believable. Sorry. I have experienced waves in South America crossing Drakes Passage and so I know what waves are.

Very quaint, lush and green. Our shore excursion was hot springs & botical gardens. interesting to see the fields of organic tea, bought some, delicious; hot springs was okay, nothing exceptional Excellent tour guide who explained how Azores is self sufficient with dairy cows, growing enough for themselves pineapples, etc., not reliant on imports.

Bad weather caused the Norwegian Getaway to cancel this port of call on Sunday May 7, 2017. It was definitely not safe as the wind was extremely strong. Understandable.

Took a private excursion with Funtastic Tours. Gave us a great island tour unfortunately both lakes looked green since it was an overcast day. Didn’t dampen our spirits though. We went to the pineapple plantation, had lunch and wine tasting also. Very nice.
