Review summary

Love the days at sea, bar package and most ports. Staff is great and this size ship is our preference as there is very little crowding, waiting in line, etc. the daily military meetings were outstanding!!! Should be a cruise line standard!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Signage to Latitudes waiting area was not good but we found it!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Most food was served at right temperature, including buffet foods AND eggs Benedict! Ginza is not worth the wait and sushi bar is likely not worth the space it takes up on board ship.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We are sun bathers and library hounds. Library is freezing! Plenty of deck chairs and activities, although music was too loud.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Shows we saw were good. Atrium music was played a few beats too fast and was monotonous. Gatsby’s Latin music drew a huge crowd of people who thought they neede to dance in every available inch of space. Way too crowded considering there were also folks waiting to go to the French and Italian restaurants. Way too frenetic!

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Great bartenders, housekeepers and cruise next staff.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Everything was cleaned frequently. Issues were addressed promptly.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Wonderful staff. Cramped but functional with plenty of storage. Bed not a shower comfortable as other cruises we’ve been on.

Ship tip

Research your excursion options.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida Did not visit port

Stayed near the airport

Ponta Delgada, Azores

4 out of 5
We have a favorite restaurant so only do that at this port.

Funchal, Madeira

4 out of 5
Bit of a walk to town. Research the hop on hop off bus options provided by CitySightseeing versus the bus offered by cruise line.

Cadiz (Seville), Spain

4 out of 5
Very interesting. Next time will consider Seville.

Malaga, Spain

3 out of 5
Did the Gibraltar tour which was actually just a shopping trip disguised like an excursion. Guide was good but too long a trip for a short stay.

Cartagena, Spain

2 out of 5
Easy Cartagena was not as advertised. Bus driver got lost so lopped time off trip, liquor stop was very badly organized and wasted time, and the “very important fishing village” as a pleasure boat harbor for a 15 minute stop during siesta. Guide did not have a good grasp of either English or history.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

5 out of 5
Loved the hop on hop off tour but paid too much. Shuttle into town was chaos and badly organized by cruise staff, but necessary.

TARRAGONA (BARCELONA), SPAIN Did not visit port

Took shuttle directly to airport.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Total chaos. Packed passageways, no crowd control. Pushing, shoving and irritation ! Either go early or go late.
