We personally do not like Naples and have been here a few times so we always go on the excursion to Capri which is clean, stunning and only a 40 minute high speed ferry ride away from the port we dock at. Naples is dirty and overcrowded but there are also many excursions to Pompeii, Amalfi and other scenic and historic places outside of Naples.

Naples itself was nothing to really see compared to the other ports, but Pompeii was definitely something that someone should go see once in their lifetime. But Sorrento was well worth the drive. Such a beautiful little coastal town with great views and wonderful people. Must try the limoncello.

Didn’t see any of Naples, as we did Pompeii and Sorrento. Would have liked this tour to include a little highlight of Naples, perhaps as we were leaving the port area on our way to Pompeii. If you do the included tour of Naples, there isn’t enough time to see anything else. Pompeii and Sorrento were amazing!

Just sailing out of port and I could not wait to post! We toured the Amalfi Coast today with Carmine Foggia, and it was by far the absolute best shore excursion/tour we have EVER been on. The coast itself is jaw dropping and quaint with small little villages tucked into the Fjords. My wife found Carmine through Rick Steeves book and we crossed our fingers and gave him a try. Man did we get lucky! I have to say from the moment he picked us up at the terminal with his “I am Carmine, and the car it’s mine!” you could easily tell he was going to be such a wonderful partner to share our day. Carmine has been doing tours for over 30 years and has taken over the tour business from his father. The many years and generations of relationships he has were immediately noticeable. We stopped at many small spots that were true gems! Carmine calls his tour the Carmine SECRET Amalfi Coast tour so I promised not to give all of it away. But suffice to say let him present the coast to you Carmine style! You will not be disappointed. And bring your appetite as he has an amazing secret lunch spot up above it all that was perhaps the best food we have ever tasted. And if you go make sure to tell Mama we say hello! If you are coming to Napoli check him out for sure. Carminesamalficoast.com
