Not much at all to see in this port. Definitely worth looking at excursion options. In parts it looks a bit run down and there is not even much in the way shops and cafes.

About Ferrol, Spain
Now one of the principal Spanish naval stations, El Ferrol's natural harbour, protected from the sea by rocky hills, is the third largest in Spain. After 1939 the city's name became El Ferrol del Caudillo because it was the birthplace of General Francisco Franco, who had become caudillo (leader) of Spain; in the 1980s, however, the longer name was abolished.

Not a lot to see, but pleasant enough for a gentle stroll. Also had the best tapas ever at a pavement café. This was the first stop after 2 sea days, so a nice warm up for Seville

Not a great port the navy museum was interesting but not a lot to do in El Ferrol itself.
