a vibrant city, we walked around, did some shopping and visited the Cathedral. It was great to be docked just in the center of town (or very very close)

For the amount of money we spent on this tour “Tastes of Provence” ($269 each) we were expecting an amazing experience. We were expecting to visit small cafes and little restaurant to taste all these flavorful foods and pastries from France. Not to mention wines from the region. This was terrible. We spent most of the morning in an outdoor farmers market. The first food we tried was a TOMATO. Really a tomato. Then we went and tried 2 or 3 cherries and other berries. We split a cheese crepe between the 7 of us. Yes one crepe. We then tried some cheese, salami, jams and olives. But it was not all you can eat, it was one or two per person. We finally made it to a wine cellar where we divided (again) one bottle of rose. The door of the cellar had an advertisement of 3 glasses of wine for 10 euros. We would have been better with that offer. The tour ended in a pastry shop where we each got a cookie and that was it. We did get a booklet detailing all the tastes of Provence that we could have gotten but did not. This tour is basically a rip-off.

Enjoyed the tour to the beautiful church, the market and a bakery. The guide was most helpful! We actually had a little time to shop there!

Get off the ship and explore. There is free transportation/shuttle that MSC does not tell you about. We took the Little train to Notre Dame and highly recommend it.

We did the Day in Cassis and fell in love with the fishing port. Take the ferry tour for $12 to see the gorgeous white cliffs and beaches.

We did a self drive tour in a little trike from a company in France. It came with an iPad with a GPS track to follow that also had information about each stop. Was a crazy and fantastic experience that we’ll remember for a long time. Beautiful history in the area

Aix en Province would be a good choice, or Chateau-neuf du Pope if you like wines and old villages. Marseille as a city is OK.

Got a taxi to the train station, then a train to Aix en Provence. Wonderful place, very compact with lots of street markets. Also very hot!
