Q: I’ve visited Marseille before and only stayed around the harbour, are there any other places worth walking to close by?

A: Basilica of Notre-Dame of La Garde is worth a visit. Don't walk too far from the Harbour area as Marseille can be quite rough. There are a lot of North African beggars and other miscreants, pickpockets, etc.

A: We took a train type trolley that brought us to Notre Dame. It was beautiful with great views.

A: Spend some money and go to Aix en Provence, what a charming Provencal town. We did that in 2018… last year we took the excursion to Cassis, also lovely. Sometimes you just need to explore.

A: It's quite a distance away at Parc Borely. One of the HOHO buses goes by it.

A: It is not close to the port, we just drove past it a month ago. Quite a ways down from the port.

A: I’m not sure where the ferris wheel is but when you get off the ship follow the yellow line painted on the walkway and it takes you to a free shuttle service taking you into Marseille you can’t walk there as it’s way too busy and does take a while.Th... e shuttle service is great,in October the ship was charging $15 per person for a shuttle serviceSee More
