We found getting around this area of Germany ourselves very easy. We took a train (very easily) to Rostock, walked around and enjoyed the old city there and particularly the astrological clock. Then another train took us to Schwerin where we enjoyed another walk around a quaint old town and visited the picturesque Schloss Schwerin there.

Explore Warnemunde (an easy walk) - buy a fish sandwich and walk to the lighthouse/beach (brrr). Then take a "cruise" to Rostock - bravely shaking off the last vestiges of the cold war hammerlock.

We went on the Berlin Your Way excursion. You get to walk along the Berlin Wall. Very thought provoking. We also continued to drive around the city seeing Checkpoint Charlie, monuments to those that died during the wars, Berlin TV Tower, Berlin Cathedral, Brandenburg Gate and many of the city’s attractions. We entered the main city square which has large domed churches on both sides. A very good time.
