Review summary

The ship was fantastic.. The best part were the Viking employees. They were always smiling and always trying to make the cruise the best. One day we went on a train trip in Flam and it was raining when we returned to the ship. There were probably 20 or more smiling crew members waiting outside the ship and made a covered walkway with their umbrellas so we would not get wet from the rain. They also had Champagne waiting for us. During the excursions, the guides were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The captain took a fantastic "side trip" down a fjord when we left Flam. It was beyond awesome viewing numerous waterfalls; rock cliffs  the fjord was an absolute spectacular plus to our trip. As we left the fjord, the ship sounded it horn which echoed off the steep rock walls. To say is was spectacular is an understatement. The ship's captain could not have ended our trip in a better way, Make sure you are on he upper deck to see the awesome site.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

You will definitely eat more than you planned. The food was great. The three restaurants were absolutely great. Manfred's & The Chef's Table were really great. The buffet was a great verity of excellent food. You can order a personal omelet every morning.

Onboard Activities

There was always something going on. My only suggestion is that they have a movie every night for those that want to just relax and sit out at the pool or theater.

Entertainment

Very good live entertainment. Movies in the pool and theater on some night, but always in your cabinet. The Paul Frederick's Show was excellent with great singing and humor.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I cannot say enough great things about the staff. They were always trying to help and could not do enough for us. Our room was kept very clean and the buffet staff was amazing. When we left the ship, there were hugs and some tears. It was like we were leaving family.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was very nice with and awesome bathroom. I think the shower is almost as large as my home shower. It was always kept extremely clean. The balcony was perfect. Also the large shampoos, etc were a real plus. The room was awesome.

Ship tip

Plan ahead and enjoy your trip. Viking and the ship's crew will do everything to make it the best. The full day train ride in Flam is beyond awesome. Make your reservations so there is room for you on them. They fill pretty quick.
