Review summary
I agree with a lot of you that the cabins are definitely smaller. Luckily the showers haven't gotten smaller!!! We always take either a mini suite depending on length of cruise. This cruise we chose a deluxe balcony and I still don't see the difference between the regular balcony and deluxe.
The biggest problem this ship experiences is the terrible service rendered by Passenger Services. They are obviously understaffed, do not answer the phones and when I had an emergency, ran downstairs and waited in line for more than half an hour to speak to someone. Princess needs to take care of this immediately. Was very bad for many passengers needing their service. The staff were obviously very stressed and short with the passengers. One of our pieces of luggage was broken upon embarking the ship. We reported it to Passenger Services and were advised that there was no-one on board to fix the luggage. We were given a form to fill out and were told that they would get back to us. 5 days later we still had not heard from them. Back to stand in line for another half hour to speak to someone. This time we were told there was someone on board who could try and fix the luggage but there was no guarantor they would be able to fix it. So, if we gave it in, we would have to sign a waiver form thus promising that we would not claim further from Princess. This is not the first time we have had a piece of luggage damaged in the embarkation process. So, I would suggest that those in charge of the luggage, look into this problem.
Cruise Director Lisa and deputy Toby are definitely the stars of the Royal. As well as Matre D' Fabio and Executive Chef, Dave McDonald. Each and everyone added some great humor and good laughs and true professionals. I am still wondering when Lisa sleeps!!
Dining room service as well as the food was 1st class. We had anytime dining, never encountered any problems in obtaining a table. We eat mostly in the Concerto Dining Room and we commend the staff there. They really made our dinner times a lot of fun with their nightly entertainment stints. A couple whom we met on board, joined us for dinner a couple of times and remarked that the Symphony dining room was definitely not on the same par.
Excursions were very well organized and the Captain is to be commended for the precautions he took in Stockholm due to bad weather.
Entertainment was enjoyable. Must admit, though, I have seen better Princess dancers and singers on other ships. But there was so much to choose from that it did not matter.
On the whole, we had a fantastic trip and like everything in life, nothing is perfect. I would still never change cruising with Princess.

Ship tip
Order room service in the morning, nothing better than sitting on your balcony. Efficient service and quietier than the Horizon.
