Athens is a mess. Hire your own taxi for the day and avoid excursions

Athens is everything you've ever heard about it. A big city that is very clean and beautiful and with the historic sites entiwned throughout it.

Went to the ruins with the boat excursion. Preferred EPhesus ruin in Turkey. It would be easy to go on your own. The tour took us in town to go shopping which was too short then to a beautiful water duck which we could of shopped at and spent more time not doing the other shopping location. It is better to plan your own tours.

This was a terrific poace to visit. Wish they could have extended the visit. The Parthenon and the Acropolis were stunning. Interesting also to be in Greece in such a time of turmoil-- the protest signs in front of the Parliament building reminds one you are in the birthplace of democracy.
