Review summary

We have cruised many times but this was our first in 11 years. Since 2002, we have sailed Celebrity exclusively and I feel that there has been a decline in many aspects of their operation from the staff to the entertainment. We loved the Cruise Director, Alejandro and his staff as well as Capt. Leo, who was very visible throughout the cruise. Due to bad weather, he even switched the itinerary so that we went to Rhodes first then Santorini. Ordinarily, a captain might just skip a port. On prior cruises there was always a nice quiet bar area we could retreat with maybe a string quartet but most of the live music around the ship was just loud. The Gilly and the Girl duo was very good. Beyond them, nothing much was memorable.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
It was lengthy. We are Celebrity Elite status Captain's Club members but were not afforded any priority embarkation. Nor did anyone approach us to take our luggage. We had to traipse through the whole process with 4 bags.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Aside from Jayne Curry, we found the entertainment very disappointing. Just John and Paul were very engaging. The Philips Brothers (a supposed juggline act) were horrible and borderline offensive in their humor. The Celebrity singers and dancers were very talented but we did not enjoy any of the productions (Topper and Euphoria) except for the Motown performance.

We had to take shuttle boats from where we were docked to the main port which was very long and ineffecient. The boats had capacity of almost 600 people and it took over and hour from the time we got in line until the boat left the dock.
