Piraeus isn’t great tbh. And the ship docked about a 45 min walk from the metro station. Weve been to Athens before so didn’t do a great deal.

We self-guided here and went into Monastiraki and Plaka to visit friends and wander around. There was no line in the security hall when we returned, so it was an easy port this time compared to previous years.

This was the highlight of the tour for me because of a log awaited visit to the Acropolis and Mars Hill for my husband. We evn had a mars bar each on Mars Hill

Best port of call without question. My piece of advice is to walk inland past all the hustle and find a taxi driver to take you around the city. They are experienced, knowledgeable and will show you the best stuff to see on your own personal excursion at a much better price than anywhere else.

Get to the Acropolis entry when it opens. It will still be crowded, but it will be better. Get a hotel on the train line away from the old city, you can save a bunch of money, and get a better hotel.
