Review summary

The port trips were very good. Disappointed in the overall condition of the Jewel of theSeas. This was my first Royal Carribean ship. On my next cruise I will research the age of the ship and pay more attention to on board activities.

This ship is tired. Carpeting is newer but wood is scratched and there were odors inthe hallway.

Bad bathroom odors. Inside drawers were warped from previous spills. Rust on balcony. Beds and pillows very comfy.

Good tour to Messina. Others got a private guide for Sicily and saw much more.

If you have no set dining time make sure you make reservations every night anyway. The ship is a good size - lots of little nooks here and there. I did not go to any of the nightclubs or casino but I heard they were really good.
