You have to pay to be shuttled to the train station to bring you to Pisa or Florence. Pay for a train fare which Pisa is 25 mins by train, Florence is a little over 1 hr by train. Our excursion was canceled to do Pisa and Florence due to the high winds that day, we could not pull into port which ended in canceling the excursion due to not enough time.

It was raining and cold the day we were to tour Florence and Pisa. We were forced to get off the bus and be out in the cold weather. None of the passengers were prepared for the rain or cold wind. We had to buy overpriced umbrellas from street vendors. Our tour guide, Tuja, was a disappointment. She didn't keep control of the group and many of us resented being treated like children because she insisted we had to leave the bus and face the bad weather. Florence is a beautiful city. I'm sorry I didn't get to enjoy it.

We had a shore excursion which took us to the leaning Tower of Pisa among other beautiful historic cathedrals. We were very cautious in Pisa, hearing that it was a sketchy area For pick pockets etc. We did not run into any problems other than the passive/aggressive vendors walking the streets carrying their goods. However, they were mostly harmless, just trying to make a living. We then were transported to a winery Where We were served a delicious lunch and many bottles of wine To sample. I forgot to mention early on, the name of this tour was Pisa and a taste of Tuscany. I believe put on by Norwegian. Excellent tour.

Pisa was great but did not have much time in Florence to see museums, etc. Hard to fit both in on same tour. Much more at Pisa than we expected. Very interesting stop. Guides at both Pisa and Florence left a lot to be desired. Not a great experience

The city is a must in every way. The museums, shops, churches. You can take the train and do it yourself IF you can make reservations on the Internet ahead of time for what you want to see.

You need an excursion or other way to town. Very nice but again a language barrier with the guide on Norwegian excursion.
